Flummoxed by Tiernan starting again at 15. It's strange that Mack hasn't been tried there at all this season, I'd like to look back at the two games he did play there while in SA last year.

Good to see Forde in, very curious to see what is being done with the place kicks (Fitzgerald on the bench).

Already in mourning for Darragh Murray's mullet which apparently will be cut tomorrow for charity!

Agree on TOH. I can't understand how he gets so many starts this season. He has been a great player for us but he is not of the standard. Porch or Hansen would be my picks. Interested to see how SHL goes at 8. I thought S. Masterson would be worth a go.

Broadly agree on TOH showed some good signs against Newcastle but not great again since.

One interesting point on the craggy rugby podcast after Leinster mentioned it was noticable that the defensive line organisation and cohesion of the back 3 fell away an awful lot when Tiernan went off for Ralston. Perhaps goes some way to explain why he is being persisted with.

Masterson was injured before Christmas, not sure what his status is now. He hasn't played so far this season so presumably he'll be eased back in via the AIL if and when he has recovered.

Good to see that his brother Eoghan is getting on well in aurillac, there was a piece on him on RTE. Has played more than 850 mins since moving.

By the way I'm fine with Tiernan being on the bench, just don't like him starting. Likewise if Porch is leaving (which seems more likely after his interview last week) then we should be transitioning out of reliance on him. Overall, the selectors should be looking at what our likely back three will be next season and preparing it.

Does anyone know if a decision has been madw yet on changes to the current URC conference system for the purposes of European qualification, or when it is due to be made? I don't think we're going anywhere until it is reformed.

What bothered me about Ralston was taking the outside line and eventually put into touch a few yards from the line. If he had gone inside and used the backup support we potentially could have scored and then the game would have been in the balance. On such moments are games turned. It would have been a huge boost to team belief. Instead ..... Just an observation

Looking forward to seeing Forde and Farrell today. Would be keen to see Forde taking the tee from Carty.

Two dreadful passes from Marmion in that opening passage.

Is it unwatchable on Premier Sports in Ireland also?

Wind must be massive because this is terrible stuff from both teams.

That chip from Hansen was absolutely filthy

Prendergast first man up on every kick chase, insane work rate.

    Sharks have packed it in

Conor Oliver is probably consistently our best player. Constantly delivering. Lovely kick at one stage too.

He hasn't had a bad game for us, very few average games even.

So frustrating, we've given a completely uninspired Sharks team access through sheer indiscipline. Josh Murphy is a disaster.

Many people wont notice because Connacht are 19-0 up but this has been an utterly horrendous performance, as bad as Ulster really, all I can say is Connacht can count themselves lucky that this is a cobbled together Sharks team otherwise they would have got smacked...

    Good man Cathal Forde

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,340 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

Ah I don't think any of us are under any illusions about the quality of performance, I'm just happy with the maximum 5 points and good outings from two young homegrown players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,122 ✭✭✭Shehal

I mean yes its job done but that's the only positive from this performance.

Thank God they caught that eventually, was so obvious.

OK, got a break there, but Sharks haven’t packed in yet.

    This too shall pass.

How can a professional side be so awful in the line out...

As a hooker, I have a huge amount of sympathy for the throwers, so difficult in these conditions. Josh Murphy has dropped three catchable throws by my count.
