Second goal came from Elliott trying maybe the stupidest dummy I've ever seen inside his own half. Lost it and they were straight at our back four yet again.

As if the start of January isn't depressing enough, we also have to endure a performance like this.

Virgil has been bog average all season. TAA also needs a kick up the hole ... Ox needs to be sold. He wouldn't get into the Brentford side.

Balls into the box have been deplorable

Forget the hugs, it’s hairdryers that’s needed in the dressing room at half time!

Calamity after calamity but I'm not surprised we were blessed Friday.

Lucky to be only 2 down at ht. Defensovely, we are a shambles, awful to watch, all over the place defending.

I don't know how anyone could have thought this would be a handy fixture, even last year when we were way, way better they caused us a mountain of problems.

Thank **** we bought Gakpo. If we keep having half of our six strikers injured then we need to look at the trainers/physics. Been said before but we seem to be a statistical outlier.

That's all very general but your post was after the second goal.

Second goal is all Elliot, the defence is out of shape because we had possession and we're in transition when he decided to be clever and leave the ball for nobody.

He got done once for pace from a standing position that's it. I don't think he's done much wrong apart from that in play any way. First ten we looked good and after that so bad. I'm not sure we have anything on the bench to salvage this

This is a disgusting performance. Atrocious. Unforgivable.

Capped off by that second goal. Harvey needs to be hauled for that dummy attempt alone, following a VAR decision going our way. Utterly criminal to give a ball away like that.

I'm honestly more worried about our attack, one good chance for Nunez that he missed and the rest has just been terrible aimless crosses

I don’t want to pile on but Elliott needs called ashore. He’s sinking out there.

Abysmal first half, knew we'd struggle massively against these as they are the worst kind of opponent for us. Well drilled, huge workrate, physical, all things we struggle with.

Ox off, Elliott off at the very least. We haven't given Salah or Nunez a look for the last 25 minutes. We're pedestrian on the ball and so easy to get at on the turnover.

One criticism I would have of the manager is he has the team set up exactly the same way as when he had this Liverpool team at their peak. And it's plainly obviously not working with the current personnel. It's not the same team but we are trying to do the exact same things.

Virgil caught out on one attack so it must all be his fault.

Anyone who can't see that the midfield's intensity is the issue, well, I don't know how much proof you need.

One of the worst performances of the season, after what was probably the worst but luckiest performance to date. There's not a single player living up to their capabilities today. Woeful.

Jurgen needs to change something and do it quickly. It can't be any worse, just chuck on Naby or Jones and see if we can grab hold of the centre. Elliott isn't at the races today.

Missed big chances this season, Nunez in top prize position, Mo currently runner up.

Looking at the bench i'm not sure there's anyone there to turn it around for us.

He said that on Friday after a game where he was destroyed by Harvey Barnes in the first half. The guy is a complete liability and his attacking return isn't covering for it anymore.

Carragher would have been all over him from 18 months ago if he's wasn't a local boy

is there even any point in watching the second half? It's just gonna be more tepid ponderous pointless attacking play from us while Brentford continue to hit us on the break. 3 or 4 nil is far more likely than 2-1 or 2-2 imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,746 ✭✭✭mormank

The sick thing is we could have easily been 2 or 3 up before they got their first but missed.

Hendo proving a massive loss in these games.

    get Elliott and kostas off

    robbo on

klopp should eat them in the dressing

way too casual and slow out there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,501 ✭✭✭✭noodler

This seems the most likely outcome.

We have stopped playing since minute 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,874 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Hopefully Klopp can redeem that performance at HT

Nunez chance is a sliding door moment

Harvey has to be off - for the second goal alone. He is booked aswell, so he can have no complaints at all.

Nunez is not seeing enough ball, Salah is nearly non-existent, Ox is doing better than the last day - not saying much - Fab and Thiago need to be doing more.

Greek Scouser could have scored but doesn't look great defensiovely.

Such a poor first half - as bad as we've been in years.

It will be interesting to see what kind of performance we deliver after a Klopp bollicking.

    Matip coming on?

Same as the Leicester game really. They are running around us like we're a load of traffic cones. Only difference is no Wout Faes to save us.
