I am not sure if it fair to group Lukaku with Werner!!! The former scored 121 goals in the Premier League at a rate of nearly a goal every 2nd game.

There hasn't been a lot of players that transfered into the league recently for big money to play up front with similar g+a numbers in there previous 3 seasons. Which I thought you were referring to.

    So doesn't really matter now.

Underscore also only has Nunez down for 89 minutes out wide and 558 up top so not sure its fair to compare him in anyways to out and out wingers.

What "stats" do think will improve? And why out of curiosity.

If you just mean he will score more goals no one is saying he won't.

Both his goals and assists - the 2 main stats that go towards defining any striker. Talking about all the chances that come his way and are not taken, his poor finising currently. He gets into the positions and I do think the goals will flow in time but what I like is how unselfish he can be. He assisted Salah and helped for the 3rd goal in the last game but also 2 or 3 other times when he passed rather than shot. Salah would definitely have shot in most of those situations I think. He is playing with a great deal of confidence - despite some poor finishing - I especially liked the way he took one high ball over his head on the full volley rather than take it down. He keeps on going - must be a nightmare to mark.

He has 9 goals and 3 assists in his 18 appearances, his stats to date are fine:)

They are not bad at all - however, they should be a lot better. He has had a lot of chances you would expect him to have taken, hence why I think his stats will improve. Strikers will always miss chances, but he is missing too many at the moment I think,

Well once he plays those things will improve, just by playing alone. Everyone would be confident to they'd improve.

How much and at what level he can get to is a more interesting debate and discussion,

Can klopp coach him to.the level he wants to, he has already improved his unselfishness his first 6 games he barely registered and an attempted assist, the shot he took via city with salah wide open was shocking.

He is certainly a beast of a man his size pace and runs are why ye spent the big bucks, how much can his game be refined is the question.

Klopp seems confident I think he made some reference to lewas early days at Dortmund, although I didn't read the article

Fully agree and likely to improve when Gapko, Diaz and Jota return rather than Ox or some of the younger kids.

As Carra just said, Nunez is Captain Chaos - a fairly good description. He just needs to be a bit 'calmer' in front of goal.

    Robertson has been brutal

You could add several other liverpool players to that list.

What an og, looked like the only way Liverpool were going to score.

That's 2 balls this half the defenders went for with the goalie coming for it so youd have to imagine no shouts or low shouts from ward

    That's just hilarious.

An assist for Nunez - captain chaos does it again.

Can't believe Leicester are losing, 2 unreal og's.

I actually heard Ward shout for both as they happened. I think the Leicester defenders just don't trust him. Not a good situation for Rodgers, he needs to drop him if that's the case. We saw how poor he was for Wales in the WC.

Salah should have done better, nice ball by Nunez.

Harvey Barnes decision making is always spectacular bad, reminds me of a worse version of rashford,

The second O.G. was some finish by the defender. I’d be looking at that if I was working for Paddy Power. I know it wasn’t but it looked deliberate to me. Tin foil hats at the ready.

Nunez reminds me a little of Suarez. Suarez only scored 11 league goals in his first full season for Liverpool, albeit in a weaker team. But then he really came good. Can he follow a similar trajectory I wonder?

Wonder what Rashford did? Dropped for disciplinary reasons.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,303 ✭✭✭davemckenna25

Not sure what Rashford was dropped for but I think he just redeemed himself.

    Brilliant work and finish.

Some sort of discipline issue apparently, took his goal well and unlucky not to get 2.

Shaw and Malacia played well. Antony didn't do a whole lot- has had a few of those games I think. Martial was pretty non existent.

He admitted himself in the post match interview that he overslept and was late for a team meeting.

Ten Hag doing a great job at restoring the high standards and discipline at United, won't take sh*t from anybody just like he did with Ronaldo
