This has to be the first time ever that I have watched a Premier League match on TV with no punditry. The half time break was filled with replays of the first half and statistics.

    2-0. Lads it's Tottenham...

Conte really should give his half time team talks at the start of games.

I was on shift overnight, 1030 till 8am, so yes! Plus, I'll be milking cows this evening so will miss the 1st half of the Liverpool game.

I much prefer that half time coverage, especially if you have missed some of the game.

Skys normal half time break consists mostly of ads and there is very little time for actual punditry.

You do know people do actually work over Christmas all over the world including Ireland and the UK.

And at least the ref didn't just wait for var to come into play. Fair enough it was so obvious, but could easily take the safe choice and allow for replays.

2-0 now...Newcastle starting where they left off

Very good first half from Newcastle, 0-3 and full value for it.

They are first to every ball and playing quite well.

Leicester look all over the place. Newcastle should bang in another couple in the second half.

Brendan Rodgers can never be considered a top class coach for the last 14 years as a manager/coach at a top level and cannot stop his teams conceding goals from corners and free kicks this trait has followed him from club to club to club.

Leicester have been brutal. Newcastle fans singing “we’re gonna win the league”?

Daka should have had a penalty.

Yes, but most companies in service facing roles ensure that there is some mechanism for their customers to be supported, either through out of hours on-call support arrangements or using staff who don't celebrate Christmas to cover. For €120 per month, I'd expect someone to be able to help me with a service that I'm paying for.

I've no sympathy for massive companies not supplying basic support for their expensive services.

I'm well aware of Liverpool's record of conceding first in recent months.

Surprised to hear that Spurs have conceded first in their last 9 games in a row

Daka, who seemed to make the wrong decision everytime he had the ball, is off, Vardy on.

As bad as Leicester are, this is impressive from Saudi owned Newcastle giving that they are missing St Maxamin, Isak and Wilson.

They’re running promotions all over the place to buy Sports Extra (BT and Premier) for this one day (12 quid). It’s a huge day for their Irish coverage as the sole provider of Stephens Day PL football with Amazon having the UK exclusive. If you put yourself in that position - and try to make as much money as they do off it - you have to support that service.

There is no way Lampard will see out the season at Everton.

Wolves beat Everton in the 95th minute. Not a nice late Christmas present there for the blues.

You're getting sacked in the morning Lampard!

Like Newcastle or not you have to credit Howe his weakness was always getting his teams to defend but when he was out of work he went around Europe and watched and studied Simeone, Jose and other defensive managers training sessions and it looks like he really learned from the best.

TAA with an awesome ball to Robertson for Salah's goal.

He is getting into some great positions in the first 10 mins.

Good first half form Liverpool, 0-2 up at ht.

Villa had a fair few early chances but Liverpool have looked sharp.

Nunez causing problems, has 3 shots on target but should have a goal or two at this stage.

Liverpool still look very vulnerable at the back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,113 ✭✭✭Pipmae

Goal for Villa - that was coming. Fully deserved. Game on now.
