Landlord did not provide a new lease when asked for.

Hiya,

So was just wondering if I have any rights here. At the end of a 12 month lease in Nov 2020 we had requested a new lease from our letting agency in Nov 2021 as we had a new tenant moving in.

We had mentioned this to the agency at the time, however a new lease was never sent on and now they are asking for the new tenant to pay a €100 fee to be added to the lease that had been signed in Nov 2020.

Is there anything we can do here? Have we any rights?

At the risk of asking the obvious, if they charge for issuing a new lease agreement with new name(s), wouldn’t you have had to pay the €100 anyway in 2021 when the new tenant moved in if it had been issued?

An agent can't charge both parties for services. they are already charging the landlord so they can't charge the tenant. threaten to report them to the PSRA.
