Iran executes first person connected to recent unrest.

    The Iranian regime has executed the first protester in connection with the ongoing unrest in the country. Mohsen Shekari was found guilty by a Revolutionary Court of the ‘crime’ of ‘enmity against God’. He was accused of being a ‘rioter’ and blocking a road, as well as wounding a member of a paramilitary force. Observers have condemned the whole farce as a show trial.

    Time this thuggish regime was comprehensively isolated as a consequence. Apparently our government wants to open an embassy in Tehran sometime next year. This should not go ahead if we’ve got any self respect. We probably won’t hear any condemnation either from Clare Daly or Mick Wallace if their previous ‘friendly’ meeting with the Iranian ambassador is anything to go by. Kick him out IMO.
