Denmark have been dour. Let's see if they can inject some urgency to their play now

Saliba, Rabiot and Mbappe coming on for France. Surprised Fofana stays on.

Denmark have been disappointingly awful this year. Completely different from 18 months ago in the Euros.

This Laidouni for Tunisia looks way too good to be playing in Hungary.

    Griezmann coming on for Fofana.

Penalty awarded to Denmark, but it's immediately been overruled due to offside. Lucky Australia.

Jeysus, Denmark almost comically bad at this stage, crosses booming miles over everyone, simple passes going nowhere near their target - all going wrong for them.

What odds on Denmark getting an equalizer to put Tunisia through only for France to also get a late equalizer to put Australia through?

The danes have made so many poor decisions or made unforced errors in the attacking third

Mbappe has been brilliant since coming on.

Varane was so bad for the goal

Griezmann equalises at the death. So hard on Tunisia.

Denmark have been awful, so disappointing from them. And France have scored with 15 seconds left of the 8 minutes of injury time. Griezmann's shot took a deflection that took it passed the keeper.

    They think it's all over...

    France goal disallowed

Imagine though that it's still not enough to see them Through

Do the crowd not realise the Aussies won?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,177 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

France goal ruled out. Tunisia will win 1-0. They did their part, but Denmark were terrible.

    Now that is DRAMA

Griezmann goal chalked off by VAR for offside, so Tunisia will get the win after all. France disappointing up until the stars came on at the end.

Hats off to Australia. Didn't expect them to come through this group. Really disappointing from Denmark to finish bottom after last year's Euros, and a strong Nations League campaign.

Why was the France goal offside? Griezmann was off when the ball was played in but the ball came back to griezmann off the Tunisian defenders head?

Or am I completely wrong- so confused over the rule at this stage!?

looks nicely open for Holland and Argentina now, one of those side will likely make the semi final but I think that’s as good as it will get for them.

It would have been all the more dramatic had Denmark turned up in the other match.

France made 9 changes. Yes they brought some on after going down but you think on BBC it means they are now no hopers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,392 ✭✭✭✭martingriff

They do but there team just beat the World Cup holders

Australian squad is very ordinary, putting it mildly. Puts a lie to the Ireland line from some, that the players are not there. It shows what a well managed and structured team can do. When a team has the proper application.

Exactly what it should be like for the last 2 games.

I feel sorry for Tunisia. They must be looking back and wondering how they out-possessed and "out shot" Australia, but lost.

More of the same tonight please.

Not to be pedantic but I know how some would react in the Netherlands if you say Holland

Edit. Plus the Netherlands were no great shakes at time and you can be quiet sure a full France team on from the start and it would have been a different game given how it changed after the substitutes

Both themselves and the USA aren't doing too bad for countries that wouldn't rank soccer as anything near their national sport. Puts to bed the notion from certain sections that the popularity of GAA is to soccer's detriment in this country.
