Mine was on Thursday. Maybe it's different timescales for different areas.

Interviewed in Oct and got placed this week thought timelines might help.

    Interview 7th Oct

Results 24 Oct oom 50s Dub open

    Eligibility check 27th Oct

    Clearance 3rd Nov

    Assignment Letter 7th Nov

Remaining in current dept so skipped Garda Vetting making last step quicker.

Like others found the interview tough, as a first timer. They did ask questions specific certain roles, interrupt and even some hypothetical qs, so examples went out the window. I was not that confident but scored late 20s early 30s in all comps so felt it was fairly scored. I guess they are trying to avoid the scripted responses to get a real feel of your experiences.

Good luck to all.. it is definitely a process!!

I was told 4 weeks for Kerrys, such a long wait, not sure why, surly they know there and then if you passed or not. Does the results of the aptitude text only get you to interview or is this included in interview score I wonder and that's why it takes so.long

@Kerrywan I was told 2 weeks for Clare result and as far as I'm aware aptitude just gets you to interview, interview is then all that's relevant.....could be wrong though. 4 weeks is a crazy long time to be left hanging 😒

I was told 4 weeks at the most for results but would probably be sooner. I guess they would have to score everyone and assign new OOM's so not really a case of knowing there and then of you passed or failed. Fingers crossed it will be much quicker than the 4 weeks 🤞🤞

The first lot of Cork interviews took place at the start of October. Hopefully the next batch will at least have an interview date by Christmas.

Would you happen to know what number was in the first batch for Cork, by chance? Thanks

Bumping this, I'm also on the dublin panel and wondering if theres any hope to interview before or shortly after christmas break

    With regards timelines

I'm in Cork interviews started 26th September and ran until the 14th, results were issued 24th.

    Clearance email Nov 10th.

I am open panel and need to do my Garda Vetting, last time I was vetted was September and it took 3 weeks so I'm guessing I'll get my assignment letter in December

I was in the first 20 anyway, if you email PAS they'll let you know what number they're up to for interview

I was in top 5 OOM for Cork open, was asked to select areas of the county I'd be willing to work in by November 1st. Have heard nothing since then. As Sparkles has moved on to clearance process in this time I'm guessing that different areas/departments are moving at different speeds. At this stage as I haven't started clearance I have abandoned all hope of starting before Christmas.

Oh that is odd. I'd love to know what way they're processing (unless I've happened to choose areas so one else wants lol)

Hi everyone, I’m 106 in Kildare for the open stream. What are the chances of being called to interview?

Anyone who recently had interview in Offaly, how was it?? You can private message me if easier 😀

Hi all, I was interviewed last week (Clare) and got results today. Was told it would be 2 weeks......much quicker so was v surprised

Also interviewed for Wexford last week and received results today, very quick turnaround.

Got top 5,really thought I didn't do that well because they were firing the questions at me and I felt like I was grasping at straws trying to answer!

Well, to my surprise and disbelief I passed the interview and somehow managed to get number 1 OOM in batch 1 for Roscommon 😳

I had thought by the reading of the area selection docs that we could still be offered other areas as they arose, maybe I’m incorrect in thinking that ! Hopefully I’ve not disadvantaged myself by only selecting certain areas ! Thanks !

Same! I thought I'd fall down on management section as have not actively managed group but got 45/50 there.....questions were flying and kept changing direction. Had no idea how to call it from the interview but delighted now

Does anyone know, I got results of the interview for Waterford. It says:

    Batch: 2

    Open Stream: 5

Does that mean that everyone in batch one will be placed before Batch 2?

First time making it this far in EO competition.

I'd imagine it's a bit like the CAO and you've got the points but they're placing preferences First before offering second choices to people if that makes sense? I only selected 3 areas on mine

    I’m 106. I don’t know if I have a hope 🙈

Results for Offaly were out in 1 week even though they said it could be a month so that's good.

Hi there, my first time going for a HSE interview over the Summer, got on panel, was informed a month after interview. Yesterday I got an expression of interest form via email. I'm so confused, not sure what to do all jobs are near where I live more or less but do I go for the jobs that I think people wont be that interested in so I have more of a chance of getting the job as I'm not top of the panel..and what happens after this stage? Many thanks

As they're interviewing for Batch 2 they are most likely nearing the end of Batch 1 or have placed everyone from it already. I would take it that there are 4 people ahead of you.

    Thanks @furrybones

Wonder how long it will take for a position to come up?

Still pondering whether I would take it, coming from private sector so many things to bare in mind, pay cut, actually going into an office etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 978 ✭✭✭furrybones

From interview results to placement took about 2 months for me, but I was retained in my current department so I don't know if that made things smoother. I was OOM4 after interview.

I guess it depends on where you'll be placed how many days you'll have to go into the office, but they don't tell you that until you actually get a placement. When you do get your notification of assignment you can look at their WFH policy before deciding. For me, the switch to a better work/life balance was worth the lower pay.

@furrybones What county did you apply in?

Is notification of assignment given before you need to pass the clearance part.

Lots to weight up better work/life balance would be a big bonus as would job security
