Tuned into Ocean Fm this week at work and have to say I am really enjoying the afternoon show with Marty Probst,great tunes and no country and western stuff, which is what I always thought was on this station! Has the schedule been changed recently,was never much of a listener to Ocean before?

yes, good show Marty's one is - makes a refreshing change .

On another side note there is a shocking male (which sounds like teenager) newsreader in the daytime on OceanFM he is always fluffing up his lines and making mistakes , dont know how he got the job. I put it down to that he was new but he has been there a couple of moths now and still tripping up on his lines and having to repeat when he fluffs it up. its ultra annoying .

Nothing could be worse than the Hyena that is on in the morning.

She is absolutley terrible. I dont think I've ever heard a presenter that was so shockingly bad.

No, unfortunatley its the other one.

I think she reads out texts from listeners on Niall Delaneys show and even after doing this for quite a long time still struggles.

Keeps saying Aye and Yeah inbetween silly fits of laughing and giggling. I just find her quite difficult to listen to.

Margaret Carr Flynn, is it? Yes, she’s a poor presenter, no articulation which would be a minimum requirement for a radio presenter!

I think she's a part owner of the station. She's the reason I stopped listening to Niall Delaney. He'd have a much better show without her

Its strange gong back to when OceanFM won the Licence over NWR all them years back and promised a 'different radio station' ... but sort of at times (with all the country and western shows and songs attuned to those kind of listeners and the older aged listeners shall we say) just morphed into the same kind of radio station as NWR was back in the day , I know at the time Claffy and Marren were pretty down about loosing out to Ocean .

Niall Delaney has a good show in the morning, however, I'm sure Margaret Carr Flynn is a lovely person, but she can be a bit of a pain in the arse to be honest, she seems to be on every morning programme which is very off putting.

How many years now is she reading out the texts and she still messes them up. And then the stupid silly laugh at almost everything that is said.

Owner or not she needs to find another career as she's not suitable for radio.

I started listening again when Marty started his show. Bit of banter bit of craic and music that our generation relate to. Too much county in the past. Unfortunately Marty hasn't been on this past few weeks, what's going on in ocean fm. Look like I'll be switching back to classic hits or rte gold.

What happened to the Georgie and Joe show,it was great craic! Just seems to have been taken off air without any explanation. I know Marty was sitting in with Georgie for a while while Joe was in hospital!

It's guesswork, radio is very often like that. The George and Joe show had a good buzz going and Marty was as ever, a great addition. Legends the 3 of them. Some great moments, the post Late Late Show Eurovision debate was epic, but I'd guess (in Radio Land) the shows appeal wasn't wide enough, but I'm guessing. The new fella is playing more music, and a wider range. He's a great addition.

Some folk give out about Ocean which I dont get. Its one of the best regional radio stations in Ireland. Niall Delaney has to be one of the best in the business, Seamie Mac and Ciaran Carty are right up there with any national radio presenter, and Michelle has made a great start and looks promising.

I find the new guy in the morning and the woman in the afternoon to be a bit bland. Marty and Georgie at least deserved to sign off by saying goodbye to their listeners. It all seens odd as I texted into the station to ask where the show went and got no response!

Yeah I hear what you are saying. I think with both (or any new presenters) its the matter of finding ones feet and getting to know the listeners and opening up a bit. We shall see, but I think both are off to a great start. Its doubtful that you'll get a response from the station of any kind. Things can happen very quickly in radio land. it can be a hard-nosed business. Which brings to mind the ballad of Rex Bob Lowenstein. Have a listen : )
