Wow....I think you need to hand in your driving licence.

It's frightening that I am sharing the road with someone with your attitude

It amazes me that cyclists are only group of people who are demonised for wearing the clothing specifically designed for the activity they are participating in.

Some men can walk like a woman, talk like a woman, and look like a woman, but they’ll still need a prostate exam when they are 60.

Most Irish towns and villages are not pretty and indeed Irish people's houses are ugly to look at.

When people stop in the doorway of a shop or on a narrow footpath to have a chat with someone they know, it should be socially acceptable to boot them up the arse.

It was, but then I didn't say he invented it, just that he espoused it.

My controversial opinion is that you should read the posts you're quoting.

Interesting I had never really thought of it that way. My own personal reasons for avoiding it are different. But I could probably add your one to the list too if I needed to.

I think its better to let climate change rip and alter our energy sources in our own time, because it becomes ultimately cheaper to do so and not because a radical agenda stuffs it down our necks, at stupidly inflated demand induced prices.

The other reason I think it should be let rip, is that the effects of the radical climate agenda in beggaring already deprived areas of the World, is already far worse than the impact of the predicted (but debatable) climate impacts.

Man will adjust as he always has, through ice ages and solar storms and volcano induced years without summers.

The unnecessary panic is costing trillions.

Father Ted was funny at the time but it hasn’t aged terribly well, and painfully unfunny pricks quoting from it has destroyed it for a lot of people.

Was that a very roundabout way of saying you hate gay people?

    Anything?

So you'd be happy enough with someone assaulting or raping a clamper to "protect your possessions"?

    Ridiculous comment.

I think it has aged depending on how you view it. For example the married couple that were always killing each other, if one takes the view that the show was knocking a cheap laugh out of domestic violence then yes it hasn't aged well. On the other hand I believe it was social commentary through the medium of comedy and from that perspective it has stood up well.

The post was an exaggerated comment in reference to what the OP said just above my comment and a tongue in cheek reference to the OPs actual job....

It's probably the main reason why people go to money lenders and get into debt, because Johnny up the road is getting the latest gimcrack from Santy (as seen on the Toy Show) and I want one too.

Quite likely. For me the main reasons I never did Santa with the kids are A) I simply saw no advantage to it and I did not think it would add anything to our or their lives and B) I have an approach where I never lie to my children.

The censorship/ban on Russian news sites in Europe.

Whilst I'm definitely on Ukraine's side, we should all have access to news from both sides. Let people form their own opinion.

No point criticising the likes of N Korea when we have similar blackouts here.

People constantly driving in middle lane on M50 and M7 should be banned for a year from driving. They cause more problems and accidents on the road than is reported/spoken about.

Well... I hate cars. I really do. I think they've fucked up modern life. They are everywhere, they take up so much space, they cause so much pollution.

    Also, I hate mobile phones.

Have you ever meet her in person ?

Beauty is subjective to who ever is looking , she's very unique looking , very long limbs with large hands & feet & deep voice ,

    But she's a absolute twat ,

I always took that as a lampooning of married couples who hate each other but stuck together because divorce was illegal until fairly recently.

That said, it's undeniable that parts of the show haven't aged well. I have a Chinese boss and I watched the clip of Ted's impression of the Chinese. Obviously, the joke is at Ted's expense but the bit after with the woman ranting about hating the Greeks because they invented homosexuality. I'd be hesitant to recommend it to anyone in case they only watched it as far as the part with the lampshade and wrote it (and me) off as a result.

Then of course, there's Graham Linehan being a notorious prick and a bully to boot.

Oh, a thousand times yes to this! It's the height of ignorance that some people feel entitled to block up a narrow footpath or doorway and expect you to just stand there like a gobshite until they finish their chat. The same goes for groups of people that walk 3 or 4 abreast down a footpath taking it up entirely and expect you step out into the road to go around them. When I'm dictator of this Bannana Republic it will be entirely legal to shoulder charge through them knocking them flying like bowling pins for their lack of spacial awareness and ignorance. It costs nothing to be polite and step aside for one second and allow someone to pass.
