Why would they discontinue a successful product?

I got in so much trouble when I was caught putting Aldi Brown Sauce into a HP bottle. I wonder would they notice the mustard powder? The packaging is perfect for fraud to be committed. 🤓

It’s a fabulous product, you can put a little into so many things that most cooks wouldn’t ordinarily think of, and people who will say they “don’t like mustard “ will ask you what’s in that, it’s lovely.

I have a tin in my cupboard for at least 10 years, and I'm still putting a 1/4 tsp into salad dressings and the occasional other stuff.

I thought only recently "I should really replace that" but I won't be binning it now!!!

Yes, I can read too, thanks. That doesn't mean that shops won't still have pre-existing stock. When a product is discontinued it doesn't necessarily disappear overnight.

Our small local SuperValu (which is usually badly stocked) had a couple of tins in stock yesterday with a best before date of 07/2023

I use the mustard powder to coat the par boiled potatoes before roasting - I hate regular mustard….

We're getting slightly off topic here but AFAIK, Musgrave's displayed prices are ex. VAT but they do charge VAT at the till. Then if the buyer is VAT registered (which I think you have to be to get a Musgrave's card) it's up to them to claim the VAT back.
