Fixing the shower head to the hose

Hi there

Any suggestions on where could I go to fix the shower head to the hose? Workshop or some strong tape. It is not threading and it an old unit with the base of the hose connected to the water mixer on the bath.

Is it the head or the hose or both that have lost the threads? If it's only the head why not try a new head. Try A&R Supplies for showerheads.

Other than that I'd try gluing but you'd need to ensure it bone dry before trying to glue it.

Thread tape used by Plumbers when fixing taps, radiator connections etc. Forms a seal from what I know. For me, it might be the first DIY fix I would do.

That's not sticky tape. When applying try and apply it so the wrap of tape will thighten as you thread on the hose.

A shower head or shower hose are easy and cheap to replace these days. You can buy them in the likes of Argos or Screwfix for small money. I replaced a hose recently with one from screwfix and it cost €10.

Part of the arch of the hose is broken. Head does not screw on. I'll try the glue option. Any suggestions where to buy glue? Will stronger than paper glue.

It is the base connection that is the issue. It seem to not come off the hose and different dimensions that PJ Matthews had.

Photo would have been good to see the issue of what setup is involved like overhead shower or hose and showerhead like on a Triton/Mira unit

The hose female thread cracked off when the unit was dropped in the bath. The base connection to the water mixer is a different diameter to what they had at JP Matthews.

Hi all

Do tradepoint sell connectors for attaching shower hose to bath water mixer?

I bought a shower unit in Screwfit but the girl behind the counter couldn't source connectors in their system. On to B&Q and the guy had no vernier to measure my old connector.
