Forced myself to slow down and think by turning on hexpert (only 100% matching patterns accepted)

Tried like a gazillion different options and this was the first that fit the pattern

Spent about 3 hours on it (off and on - sometimes it helps to leave it to stew in the back of the brain while concentrating on work, making a coffee, etc)

Once I found the first/last letter (and assumed the most probably second-last) and started playing around with fillers, I found a word that fit, which thankfully was the actual answer (few days ago I got a word that was 1 letter off, raging at that! 🙈😂)
