Phone line ownership

    Lads who owns the phone line coming into my house , is it mine or eir ? It's hanging from a pole on the road to my gable, has been since the 80's I'd say. It's hanging over a farmers field and he has asked for it to be moved as he's clipping it when coming out with high trailers of hay. Is it up to me to get it moved it does he get onto eir?

    Similar situation here a few years ago, our line was hanging low over a neighbouring farmer's field, got snagged in machinery and broken. He asked eir to move it as it would happen again.

    New pole was installed and the cable was rerouted a while later.

    Thanks Cush... So like he works away with eir and doesn't need me at all ? I'd prefer it this way.

    Had a similar issue a few years ago, but they wanted the householder to request the move and then they did it no problem. So I think you may need to contact them not him
