No neutralising link

    Hi all,


    Recently qualified spark and have gone REC. We have started to do a rewire of an old bungalow. TT system, however, what I perceived as the neutralising link, a 2.5 earth cable coming from esb meter into an exisitng earth joint box, was cut when we arrived. When it comes to testing, do the esb have to come out first and connect in new 16sq neutralising link that we will have ready for them? Or is there anyway I can test fault loop impedance prior to them coming out?

    Rewire the house , dead test it , send in cert , esb come out and connect your tails ,

    get your client to contact esb and tell them what work is going on ,

    As above you do the Zl testing after energising an installation

    You could check the likely external fault loop impedance easy enough before that , it should be around 0.35 max for TNCS if you're concerned
