Son and I are travelling from Dublin to Manchester on Saturday.

Carry-On luggage included but it doesn't specific the maximum allowed weight or maybe I haven't read the small print enough?

I'm guessing 10-12k but just want to make sure as I've got stung before.

Aer lingus says "Carry-on bag included".

Will ring them if necessary to elaborate.

Just thought someone might know off-hand.

If it's aer lingus then it should be 10kg.

    New 10kg Bag Options

Applicable on Aer Lingus flights within Europe

We've changed our carry-on bag policy and now offer two different ways to bring your 10kg bag on your journey.

If you would like to take a 10kg bag on board with you and your booking does not include it, you must book a "Carry-on bag with priority boarding" online from €5.99/£5.99. Alternatively, drop your bag off at the check-in desk or bag drop kiosk (available in Dublin, Shannon and London) when check-in opens and collect it again at the bag carousel when you land. This option is free.

If your booking includes a carry-on bag with priority boarding, you must take this bag on board with you (please see below for details).

A small personal item (handbag or laptop bag) is still included for all customers.

The Aer lingus personal bag size for underseat stowing is 33x20x25 cm compared to Ryanair 40x20x25. I see plenty of ads for things like Ryanmax that fit the 40cm limit. Has anyone suggestions for where I could source a 33cm bag? I've searched Amazon but gave up after pages of ads for cabin bags or Easyjet or Ryanair sizes.

Also, any opinions on the " IT World's lightest " 55cm bag at €55 from Argos? Only 1.65 Kg.

What does Aer Lingus consider to be a 'laptop bag' and how strictly do they enforce it on Dublin - Heathrow ?

I've got a laptop backpack in which I can also fit a change of clothes but not much else. But my laptop is 36cm long so needs a 40cm bag.

With the current baggage mayhem, I'm not going to check it in. But I'd rather not pay €36 extortion to carry on a small bag, just because Aer Lingus are trying to profit from bag-loss-worry caused by the airline industry.

I checked their website too OldRio. Did you have a laptop? Did you pay to bring it on board?

I’ve never had weight or size of bags checked by aer lingus. I fly to UK regularly. I use a soft carry on bag, but it is proper big and normally much more than 10kg, plus a small backpack or laptop bag which is pretty packed as well.

Has never been a problem so wouldn’t get too fixated on weight

OldRio, apologies if I'm not being clear. I've been able to read what's on the Aer Lingus website. I came on here asking for actual experiences of anyone who has travelled on Aer Lingus recently with just a laptop and whether they checked it in/paid etc. Just to repeat, in case it's not clear. I don't need any Aer Lingus links or website content.
