Bullet proof wheelbarrow

If you get a galvanised one from a builder's merchant and keep the rain from pooling in the tub, then they last pretty well. Mine is 10 years old now, but I have replaced the original rubber tyre twice. I have one of those solid ones in the shed for the next replacement. Brooks have three types here.

We currently have 4 wheel barrows with one on its way out.

Plastic will last for years oldest plastic one is about 15 years old and the plastic is fine the frame is however rusting away. The only problem is that you can't go throwing rubble in them like you can a steel wheelbarrow.

I've a ten year old galvanised steel wheelbarrow (something like https://www.whitesagri.ie/product/gripfix-galvanised-wheelbarrow/) which gets all the abuse. I'd recommend the galvanised ones even if the frame isn't galvanised they seem to last much better.

You need to try a few different builders merchants as some only stock standard plastic or painted models.

For anyone with a large garden I can recommend the rolls royce of wheel barrows the two wheeled JFC wheelbarrow - but the price! It is however built to last left outside.

We had that tipping cart. There is hardly any meat on the metal. Think it lasted 4 years before the frame rusted out completely but we did store it outside. Looked after it would have lasted longer.
