Has the weather been worse than predicted? I honestly thought it would end up being a fairly decent weekend. People were saying the ground was so dry that wellies wouldn't be needed.lmao

I spent a lot preparing to go but looking at that weather I am kinda glad I missed out as expensive as missing out has turned out to be.

You'd wonder how bad it would have to be for it to be cut short?

How do kneecap get away with that act ? Brilliant imo. Now for TCM. Great weekend.

“…fortunately the wet weather failed to dampen the spirits of the revellers…”

It's wet, it's Ireland, ground in the main Arena is still solid, woods are mucky, I'm wearing Docs and have been grand.

It's wet but nowhere near as bad as people are making out, jesus. Sun is out now at Salty Dog, TCM warming up

what are you raving about. it pissed rain, but the ground was so dry it soaked it up no problem.

If you're going through a narrow walkway it will be mucky, but ground in open spaces is still hard

Walked cans into the main arena no bother, and I have a bag that says " The bag for the cans" on it, happy days.

I doubt it’ll get proper mucky it’s been so dry and the predicted rain isn’t enough.

tldr: normal Irish weather is not going to stop anything at EP.

The weather has been about what was predicted a week ago, mixed with chances of heavy rain. In the main arena arena the ground looks the same as it did before any water hit it, the wooded areas have some puddles but they're easily avoided.

Festival Republic have been at this a long time. I've seen smaller festivals close stages because the stage hasn't been rigged for wet weather, whatever else you might say about them FR know how to avoid that.

Very strong winds or tonights lightening would be the most likely things to stop the stages running. If the wind was strong enough to stop the festival the vast majority of campers tents would already have be flattened so they'd already have gone home.

I was a bit put off by the idea of the "up the ra" stuff but my god, Kneecap were incredible. One of the best gigs I've been to in a while.

    Sun out now, thank god!

We have had rain but not to the point that it is affecting any of the performances and for most not affecting their tent. Heavy enough shower before TCM but the power above showing he is a smiths fan as sun came out for it. Was class and met a few more boardsies

is this an MDMA reference by any chance?! cos I took some at primavera that an english lad gave me and I wasn't too wasted but just could not stand up straight, I lost all sense of balance for a while in the middle of the crowd. kinda scary tbh, my brother had to hold me up! we left and then I was grand. weird

Tent was flooded when we woke up this morning so we scarpered back to Dublin for the day, we’re gonna be back down in the morning.

Definitely agree that there’s too many people at the festival, queues for any sort of food are ridiculously long. The festival itself is poorly arranged and poorly signposted. The stewards in the carparks and surrounding areas are next to pointless. The company that was renting out those trolleys at the main entrance legged it early with our deposit too.

I was 10 mins late to Pixies and thought I might have missed Debaser, mad that they didn’t play it at all. Toisín was savage at the trailer park.

The ladies welcoming campers to the byeco site yesterday were great and so accommodating.

Anyone tempted to sleep in their car tonight? So very tempted to pack up at 1 and sleep in the car. Wouldn't be driving til mid day. Our good tent leaked last night and not sure how it will stand up against weather later

Loads of great stuff today. Naked Lung, Silverbacks, Susan O'Neill, Annamoe Drive, the Scratch, Denise and the Limerick crew all fantastic. Not to mention These Charming Men. Great day so far. Sleaford Mods still to come. Such silly conversations about the weather. As said, whole arena perfect, walkways a bit muddy. Pair of hiking boots, not a bother. We'll have to wait and see what's to come tonight.

When I left the arena after Ham Sandwich I went out through transmission. Security seem to have given up, just a bit of tape across the entrance.
