Funniest thing about Monday night is Rashford having to apologise for his language!

I am no Man Utd. fan, but if you score a vital goal, in a game of this magnitude, against, possibly, your biggest rivals - swear away!

He's had to go onto Twitter - ridiculousness of the highest order.

    Expensively assembled bench for United.

United are playing with a better tempo here. They look like a team. Solid looking at the back.

Southampton appear to be targeting United's left hand side. Decent watch this game. Kyle walker Peters has turned into a lovely player

Southampton knocking on the door here, so much so that when they are getting wide Mctominay is dropping as third cb.

They really grew into the game. Some very decent players. Bella Kotchup is an absolute tank at the back. United faded a bit as the half wore on.

I think they will bring Casemiro on at ht or shortly after it.

I see on twitter and elsewhere people having a go at Elanga and Bruno but Sancho has been the worst player on the pitch imo.

Southampton still well in the game.

Great directness shown from Elanga and perfect cross whipped in from Dalot. Sublime finish from Fernandes left Bazunu with no chance.

Definitely looked like handball from Mct.

    Astonishing decision.

First handball in the challenge clear as day.

Just a question of if it was inside the box. Didn't show on replay

Yes handballed with both arms. Quite incredible really.

Have they done away with VAR this season?

Ronaldo on for Sancho who was the worst player on the pitch today imo.

Che Adams fouling all day long.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

That non handball needs an explanation.

    Seriously.

Looking at the benches for Man City & Liverpool's benches today and my word they are weak bar 2 senior players. Liverpool's starting line up weaker too. Injuries very prevalent. The whole 5 subs rule now is not really applying to them yet.

Maybe this is the year for someone else to take advantage.

It wasn't intentional and his arms were not in an unnatural position. The ball was just bouncing around like pinball.

    Dont be talking all sensible...

Okay... Sure it wasn't intentional, nor were his arms in an unnatural position...

But still.... Do not you know it's a conspiracy.. not sure why or how but it is.

If Southampton had anyone other than Che Adams they would have won this game handy. United are horrific.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,303 ✭✭✭davemckenna25

We must have been watching different matches...😂😂

Anyhow.... Onto the relegation 6 pointer at Anfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,919 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Ah here, I said nothing about a conspiracy. Let's be adults, for Christ sake.

He juggles the ball. It was weird, and it meant Adams couldn't get the ball. That's all.

Must have been. Man United had zero control over that game. Barring a great Bruno goal they were awful. Defence was decent enough though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,566 ✭✭✭Tandey

Does it need to be intentional this season as it definitely wasn't like that last season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,566 ✭✭✭Tandey

It's a good sign that a team labelled horrific still manage the 3 points at the start of the season.

The difference from their first two games is that they are cutting out their silly mistakes. No coincidence that Maguire wasn't on the pitch today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,478 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

It's actually the first handball of the sequence that's the dodgy one......arm was out in an unnatural position and clearly struck him. Letter of the law it's a pen all day long.

The juggling about can probably let go, as it may have even bounced off the other player.

The only question to be asked is whether it was inside the box, and given how his feet are on the line, it's at the very least on the line, with his arm moving forward clearly inside the box.

ManU defended decently enough though Soton should have worked some of their final efforts better.

hand ball 100% crazy from VAR, his two hands up that high for no need at all,

United where poor but got the job done & that what away games are all about , Saints are tipped by many to go down & where the better team but no forwards will kill them ,

Good result for United and will build confidence ,

Ronaldo was very poor when he came on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 990 ✭✭✭earthwormjack

Of course but they were very lucky with that handball shout. Both Maguire and Shaw getting dropped just made them instantly better.

I don't think many teams will be worried playing Man United yet though.

As a follower of the league leaders, United game was insignificant whoever won

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,869 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I think over the last few years, the idea of a big team scraping an away win while playing playing poorly is petering out.

Home or away, the top teams try and control the game the same way. Dominate possession, dominate the game. Doesn't always work, but they still try and do it every other week against the bottom 14 at least.

2 nil to Palace, what’s happened to City recently

Have an adult conversation are you joking, you can't question a decision now in a United game on here with out it being called a conspiracy.
