Is there anyone who you would suggest might make a good stand-in?

Who is this guy on with PK now saying that there is not a lack of Gardai on the streets, that Dublin is far safer than other cities in Europe. The guy is seimply deluded - there are nowhere near enough Gardai on at street level

Absolute dope. God! Comparing Dublin to Paris in terms of statistics of crime reported. One of the reasons why our stats look lower than Paris is because theres no garda on our streets you **** imbecile & anytime a crime is reported, you're lucky if the gards actually do show up!! I was in Dublin 1 yesterday and it looked something out of south central LA & you've got dopes like this on the radio talking about statistics.

Nice & safe in a deep south leafy Dublin suburb himself, check

Living off the Irish taxpayer through the senate despite not being elected, check

Licking the arse off incompetent ministers within his own party, check

Strong social media presence making out Fine Gael to be great, check

Talks over presenter babbling away with his completely irrelevant statistics, check

Get Fine Gael out now please. Ireland is finished in another 10 years if they remain in charge.

Does anyone know if the Gardai are still working the shift pattern agreed for Covid? I know there was resistance to changing back to the pre Covid pattern so it obviously suited them. I think one of the problems is that the Gardai won’t work at times when they’re most needed.

Not surprising. Continually banging on about lack of funding & resources but happy to engage in blue flus even if its against the law they're sworn to protect. Things should be completely back to normal now like pre covid as most people are. Id be surprised to see a more overpaid lazy police force in the western world. They're an absolute joke. And this dope sen Barry Ward saying the state has never invested more funds in the gards then ever before, possibly correct but they're probably least effective than they've ever been before. As well as this, Crime is getting out of control in our capital city. You really despair sometimes with the idiots in power in this country.

Spot on! Went thru Connolly on the weekend and it was like a Death Wish scene. The private security contractors doing their best but Gardai no where to be seen. Yet they they were everywhere during Covid handing out fines to beat the band?

Was driving all morning but heard Pat's interview with Brendan Gleeson, thought it was excellent.

Also heard the interview with the Energy Professor teaching in the Ulster University I believe. Thought that was interesting too, but Pat asked her is it not dangerous running the washer and dryer at night time when asleep. She sort of said well accidents may happen if we want to have enough energy !! There is no way I would leave the dryer I have to run when I am not there or awake !!

I bet she doesn't put her washer and dryer on at nightime

I don't get this paranoia about running washing machines/ dryers at night.

How many milions of washing/ drying cycles are run every year?

How many of those result in fires/ danger situations?

How many of that smaller number are caught in time, where people are in the vicinity?

Once you have a normal working machine, and a proper electrical system (which is a legal requirement), then there is absolutely no issue with running them at night.

Does everyone not put their dishwasher on at night?

    I wonder this as well!

I often run my DW overnight or as I head out to work, and WM on a timer to finish when I wake up or get home from work.

Almost everyone I know has both appliances, and I have literally never heard of anyone having a fire or other calamity with them.

my morning was going grand till Paul Murphy appeared. Is he like bettlejuice ? someone utters his name 3 times and it appears

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,967 ✭✭✭✭EmmetSpiceland

How did he go with Anton? It rarely ends well for him when he’s on with Pat.

The shooting lobby didn't get their sharpest spokesman out this morning to defend their corner.

"Well how do you get the ducks out of the sky (if you don't blast them)?" Questions like this are why I like Anton. He can be as sharp as a tack. Pity about his mammy & family business.

to be honest I turned it off when I heard Paul Murphy was on. No matter what mood I am in , he makes it worse, and it was too early in the day to be put in a bad mood !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,162 ✭✭✭✭whisky_galore

It was really funny to hear the shooter object to the phrase 'blasting out of the sky'...Anton saw that open goal.

Fair play to Anton Savage for covering this story of those scumbags coming onto farmland.

Twas the modus operandi of one of RTE's media darlings husband and gang one time, she herself was even on one of the expeditions drunk(or so she said) while hubby and his mates tied up an old lady with her own shoelaces and terified her so much she never returned to her home, but said young lady has her forever home now after her publicity stunt thats all that matters
