The reaction to the performance is quite interesting. Its not much of a template for United at all, they can't go park the bus and play on the counter against most sides in the division.

United all of a sudden world beaters in 14th , yellow and green scarfs in the bin on the way out

Liverpools like of legs in midfield really cost them.

TAA if he's not scoring or assisting can look like a real liability. His positioning can be really poor at times.

Salah didn't look up for it.

I'd say any team would love to play United after losing 2-1 against Brighton and trashed 4-0 at Brentford.

    Works both ways.

United were terrific, players bang out of form and played to the occasion.

United very good tonight, got rid of Maguire and Ronaldo and looked good, Ronaldo can still do a job just not tonight. Will have a up and down season but looks to be going the right direction.

As a fan, it's all I'd ask for from this season tbh. Play with a bit of heart, determination for the badge as cliche as it sounds.

Let ETH find his way, play his system and get the players he wants. Won't win every game doing that until the players gel and get used to his way of playing but in time, hopefully it'll happen. Like you say, in the right direction.

ETH saying the right things too.

No point just doing it tonight.

Need this to be the standard.

Bruno was just exceptional tonight. Different Gravy.

United had a good first 20 mins, that's it, the rest of the game it was more to do with Liverpool being septic.

To be fair, they still aren't a patch on last year's quadruple winning side sitting in 16th 😂

    Wrong thread..

Lucky enough I don't class a season after 3 games, calling Liverpool finished and so on, I'll give united credit when due but no team is winning the league or finished after 3 games. I know that Liverpool are 16th but let's grasp the situation we are in the same boat at this point in time

Liverpool atm are like UTD in the last couple of Fergies seasons. Too many starters in the 30+ bracket, nothing on the bench and struggling in games they should be winning. A big rebuild is needed there but I dont think they have the owners to do it. 1 PL and a CL is a poor return from that side imo.

Hopefully this also kicks on Rashford now. He got put in more shifts like that..Took goal well.

    What a mad match day.

Not when you factor in the teams they were up against.

I'd be confident Liverpool will play much better when Matip/Konate, Thiago, Keita, Jota & Nunez return. Midfield is a massive problem at the moment. Milner is 36 & Elliott is 19, both players at the extreme ends of their careers but the player alongside then is 32. Firmino's legs have gone by the looks of things and doesn't cover the ground anymore, or have the pace. Lacking energy and legs there in the middle of the park. Weren't able to cover runs and the energy of Man United cut them apart in the first half. Created the gaps which made the Liverpool defenders look worse. The midfield was the source of the problem.

When Klopp turned to make changes tonight his options were an out of form DM, a reserve LB and a teenager. 2 keepers on the bench and 5 subs under 20.

Liverpool very poor tonight overall, in the first half especially, but played well in the last 30 alright. When the starting players return, there should be an upshoot in form. You'd have to hope there's no more injuries as there is enough as it is.

4 of the starting XI are 30+, it's hardly too many. A midfielder and maybe another forward and it's still a top squad. 1 CL and 1 league isn't bad whilst competing with city.

Totally agree...think Klopp has probably overachieved with winning the CL and the 1 premiership title especially when you look at the financial might that city have...

The 5 foot 5 centre half looked fine to me tonight , fair play to him for bouncing back after being taken of at half time - great mental strength

You had the world's most expensive centre back and keeper. You've also just spent 100mil on a striker, Diaz, Thiago, jota, fabino, keita cost over 200mil.

    Liverpool spent lots of money

Against a weakened team. A great time to play Liverpool.

Delaying the restart of a game, whether it’s a corner, free kick, goal kick, throw in or kick off after a goal is time wasting. Jesus, it couldn’t be any clearer.

Let’s see how he does against a tall striker getting the ball lumped at him.

Injuries aside I think my major concern if I was a Liverpool fan would be that over the past 3 games they have been out fought. When a team/squad has been successful and they collectively start to lose that fight it should be a worry.

United I thought were fantastic and knew exactly where the weakness was in the Liverpool set up. Dropping Maguire, Ronaldo and Shaw was gutsy by ETH and it paid off. Bruno led the team superbly and never stopped running (both his legs and his mouth). Rashford, Martial, Sancho and Elanga terrified the Liverpool defence with their pace. The United defence was very good but Malacia in particular I thought was fantastic.

Right now it's just a one off performance so it means very little but if they can perform like that week in week out then I'll be very very happy

To be honest any team that has put it up to Liverpool in past have at worst given them a game.

Said it before last few seasons about Liverpool and city. Teams have shown them far too much respect and been walked over.

Very early to be writing liverpool off too. They be there abouts in big 2 trophies again just it won't be as easy, but it won't be for City either.

I look forward to every player on every team being sent off at the weekend so. What is the time limit for kicking off after a goal just so i can memorise it for the future?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,315 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

    2 big trophies ?

I can't see them make up the ground in the Premier League. Will make top 4 alright if that's what you mean.

Last night game was a reverse of what them game where like before Klopp came to Liveprool ,

United being the better side & Liverpool having coming out and playing blood & thunder to have a chance of beating them,

It was just one of those games reversed,

Liverpool missing a bucket load of players out of them Konate,Matip,Thaigo, Keita, Jota,Nunez all would have been a big help at stages last night,

On top of them lo Kheller, Jones, Ox, Ramsey are all missing to ,

He played well but he was always going to be ok in games against players like Bobby Firmino,

Its games against the big strong & quick striker that will make or break him in the Prem ,
