Is it OK to message someone on LinkedIn about a job they just left (quickly!)

Hi there

I was talking to an in-house recruiter about a role at a small company.

I noticed the previous person in the position left after 3 months and they are now looking for a new job (after being in their pervious job 3.5 years)

Is it a bit rude to message them asking what it was like? I mean they could have been fired, harassed, or they could've just decided it was a sh1t show and left.

What do you think?

Nope, sure worst they'll do is ignore you.

Ask them what money they were on too, in case the company is taking the p*ss.

If you are a contact with them on LinkedIn then sure, I'd ask the question.

If not a contact, then I don't know how you know their details, so I assume you are.

Well if they are a diligent person of integrity, which most are they will refuse to discuss it with you and possible send feedback to their old mates about it and if not they may fill you with a load of crap and you will not know which is which....

Why would they care? They'll answer or they won't.

I personally wouldn't unless they were associated with people I trust.

Because people do all kinds of crap for all kinds of reasons and placing something that is important to you in the hands of someone random individuals you don’t know is not a smart idea.
