    Colour is very subjective.

    White is also my favourite!

I mean, you're clearly both wrong and the best color is Midnight Silver Metallic

I liked your comment, but doesn't necessarily mean I agree with it..😁

As you sit there in your new house with MSM painted walls, drinking tea from your MSM cup, wearing MSM sun glasses looking out at your MSM MX 🤣🤣🤣

Couple of corrections as the Tesla mugs only come in black (well the ones I got free at the service center did anyway :P ) and I'm a coffee drinker.... but yes it's MSM or nothing.

This is brilliant. Simply brilliant. The phrase "lol" has lost all meaning thanks to the repeated use but this was a genuine full faced lol.

And I was just looking around my study and kitchen (and out the window) and nearly everything is white lol😁

MSM is clearly the only colour, this is due to Aero Wheel matching. End.

@alan kelly - the premium connectivity is a must. And that's coming from someone who really doesn't like spending money unnecessarily.

When are we getting the made in Berlin Model Y here in Ireland? Apparently the suspension is hugely improved over the made in China cars.

I think Berlin are only making LHD MYP’s at present. Thought I seen that somewhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 19,467 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

Yes Berlin are only making LHD MYPs at the moment and only 1k a week for now.

Best mate ordered a LHD Model Y Performance from Berlin a few weeks ago, should get it well before the end of the year. Can't wait to drive it, see how it compares to the made in China LR that I drove here a few months ago.

Berlin Tesla Model Y Performance vs Shanghai Long Range

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,085 ✭✭✭Mr Q

I think they are shutting the production line in Berlin for a few weeks this month. To make improvements to it.

The current 1k per week could increase very quickly over the summer then.

If we order now how do we know where its been manufactured ? Berlin or China ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,376 ✭✭✭Thumper Long

In reality you can’t know prior to ordering but will more than likely be China as Berlin is only producing LHD Perfs, but that could always change before you get a car delivered but unlikely for a current order

Nope, China is the only source right now

Personally I wouldn't order a Tesla Model Y now until I knew for sure it would be coming from Germany. Much better ride quality.

Have they confirmed a different suspension vs Fremont/Shanghai?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,114 ✭✭✭✭unkel

Reviewers like Bjørn Nyland have tested and confirmed that the suspension is now "fixed"

Even the made in Germany Performance Model Y on 20" wheels has a better ride than the made in China LR Model Y on 19" wheels

I'm potentially about to order one and I've been trying to find out about ride quality and whether or not it might be improved by the time my car is built/arrived. Test driving the Y on saturday and I'm expecting a pretty bumpy ride. I'll be coming from a fairly comfortable G30 5 Series. Does anyone have any first hand experience with a recently built Y? Is it the case that the German built cars are better but not available in RHD?

Will read back over the thread here also for any nuggets of information

edit: Read unkels test drive experience on the previous page. Ride comfort seems acceptable

Acceptable to me, but many people would like a ride a bit more comfy for a family car. By all means it looks like German cars are better (with better suspension) but they are not built in RHD. Not yet. And it is unknown when that will change. Go test drive one and insist they put it on standard 19" wheels and make your mind up. If it's fine for you, order it.

Such a pity they didn't squeeze it in under the grant. I would have been very tempted. But I guess they don't need to, Tesla sell all their cars easily even after several price upgrades over the last few years.

So do we reckon this is still a Made in China with the LFP battery? Or Berlin?

I’m not sure if it’s an anomaly in their system, but look at the prices in Lithuania……

even the Performance Model Y is coming in about €8k cheaper than the Irish RWD!!!

For €42k…… I’d be seriously tempted…. And I’d keep it in Ireland over the winter!!!!

    Thats the difference in taxes

I'd have been tempted to swap my incoming SR 3 for an SR Y but not if it doesnt get the grant. The grant is likely gone after this year, so you're essentially buying (5k-depreciation) of increased value at trade in time by getting the grant now.

For some reasons I can't switch to LT shop now but can you check if it is price before VAT?

Yep that's exactly it. You might as well grab the grant before it's gone.
