Astec 49DV help please

Sorry guys, I see the charter has changed..................

Many thanks for your help on changing the battery a few years ago.

I'm having trouble with a worn out digit on the keypad of a Astec 49DV, impossible to press one particular key to activate/deactivate the alarm and thinking that if I can change the user code to different digits it might last a bit longer.

Can't access the engineer section - default code not working, and company gone out of business.

Anyone able to help?

To change your own code press Clear Fn 3, put in user code.

Then it will give the option to change code.

Put in new code, press set, new code again press set.

That solved it.....for now! No doubt the whole system will need replacing at some point.

Yes, its an obsolete system now so planning an upgrade is worth keeping in mind

I have a 49DV keypad here. Still on the wall. Very unused as it was the upstairs keypad. PM me know if you want it.

If your up to a challenge the keypad can be taken apart and clean the contacts on the PCB and the back of the buttons on the keys themselves. That brings them back to life.

I'd probably need a tutorial on taking it apart - no doubt the bell would be ringing.
