What was on the massive site in New Ross?

There's a massive derelict site on the left on the way into New Ross on the old N25. Looks like it was a factory.

I didn't think much of it until a few weeks ago when I got to go through it for parking for the recent car show. It's huge. I can see old factory buildings on the geohive maps but can't find anything on Google.

What was there? Why did they close? And why did they knock all the buildings?

Old fertilizer manufacturing site. Sat there for years empty as the roof was full of asbestos

Thanks for those @Mini850, did a bit more googling on it too. Interesting place. Wonder what will become of it, apparently it is still attracting annual rates of €200,000 to the council.

Used as a rally track these days for Wexford Motor Club. Its a very cool spot for it.
