Do you have a link to a reputable source where the salary is £350K + bonuses?

Widdensushi provided a quote from the club above which says the "headline figure reliant on success and appearances".

You're not far off telling us Salah is getting paid with good vibes and the love of the people.

What figure do you actually estimate it to be?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,952 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

I'd tend to believe what the club are saying which is the "headline figure reliant on success and appearances". So £350K including all bonuses.

Would you have any reason to question what the club have said?

This what the Athletic wrote and all their journos are pretty much saying 350k max with bonuses.

My guess and its just a guess is his base salary is between 250k and 300k a week and with goals, assists and win bonuses etc brings it up to a max of 350 a week.

I would also imagine Salah as a player sees himself scoring or assisting in every game anyway so he would have the self belief that he will get that max wage every week.

When Kevin De Bruyne, a month short of his 30th birthday, agreed a two-year contract extension in May of last year to keep him at Manchester City past his 34th birthday, Salah, with guidance from Abbas, figured they should be aiming for something similar. That is roughly what they got – although there were concessions from both sides because some of his £350k a week is incentivised around performance and achievement.

You mean would I have reason to question why a club with an established wage structure is trying to downplay how much they're paying a player? Indeed would I have any reason to question why any club would downplay how much they spend on players? No, can't think of any...

I had a look at Richarlison's XG, and compared it to his actual goals. The posters that said to do that has a great point in bringing that up and to be fair that is a better measure than what I did on just goals scored.

His XG last season was 10.01 (understat) and scored 10 goals, including penalties. So performed as expected. The season previous, his XG was 10.67, and actual goals was 7, so he underperformed. In fact his total XG in the PL is 52.52 and has scored 48 actual goals. According to understat, he has underperformed his XG in 3 of his 5 PL seasons.

See you're just used to your own club and their dodgey way of doing things. The likes of Liverpool, United, Spurs and Arsenal etc are all fairly transparent in their dealings.

    Everton offically announce Tarkowski

Sounds like Ronaldo has told Mendes to shop him around Europe and see where he can get a transfer to. The new Chelsea owner met Mendes last week and now this

Everton's former head of recruitment has and joined Spurs.

I wonder was he the one who got the Richarlison deal over the line for Spurs.

After Everton's recent purchases you wouldn't be getting to excited by that.

SSN reporting Ronaldo wants to leave. You have to wonder, sitting on his couch reading his £480K weekly pay check and thinking "I can't do this"

Yeah spurs should be hoping for much from his recruitment record at everton

But I thought Ronaldo came back to utd because of his love for them. And now he wants to abandon a sinking ship

I'd say a big part of it is just a fairly firm awareness he's not going to fit into Ten Hag's plans and way of playing. The club is moving from the player-power ethos of the past few years to a stronger manager with a stronger point of view... that's never gonna fit a fella who's in the twilight of his career and probably doesn't fancy being 'coached' into doing something beyond what he wants to do.

I'm not sure where he goes from here though. He'll want champions league, but he'll also want tonnes of money. I'm not sure who'll be willing to offer both at this stage of his career. Might be the time to decide... maybe take a massive pay cut and go back to Sporting?

Ronaldo leaving is surely the only way Man United can move forward. He hasn’t improved the team since joining last summer and those wages would be much better spent on two or three younger players who’ll be there for the long term.

Of course I’d hope to see him stay though, from a selfish perspective, as United won’t be troubling anyone at the top end of the league while he remains.

Even bringing Dybala in on slightly lower wages on a free transfer would be an upgrade at this stage, at least he can offer some longevity.

Ronaldo - 3rd top scorer in the league with 18 goals despite arriving late - was never the problem. The team wouldn't have made it out of the CL group without him. The problem is the Glazer ownership, not having a proven, top coach, and surrounding one of the greatest players in the history of the game with dross.

He was managed by a puppet when he arrived, then they hired an interim puppet, and now they've appointed a full-time puppet. If they wanted a proven winner, they would have got Conte when he was available, and they would have provided funds for a major squad overhaul. The writing is on the wall and he knows it; United are going nowhere with the Glazers in charge, and it's as simple as that. He was poorly advised in rejoining in the first place and perhaps overestimated what his goals could provide. He needs to get out now if he doesn't want to waste one of his final remaining seasons as a top player.

The best thing about him returning was he raised the standards and thus helped illustrate how useless Solskjaer was. The Glazers aren't interested, however, and will gladly have another puppet that bangs on about trusting the process, and tries to rehabilitate players that ought to have been sold years ago. United are morphing into Arsenal and the owners will happily take 4th every season as long as they can keep siphoning off money. United fans are part of the problem, snapping up season tickets before inevitably dusting off the green and gold scarves to wave about when it all goes pear-shaped again.

I'd say ten Hag would be delighted for Ronnie to leave and not have the spector Ronnie hanging over his head as manager of Man U.

Results going bad and the cameras pan to Ronnie on the bench and Alex in the stands no manager wants that.

100% this. He's a legend and always will be but he is not the future of the club.

He was throwing strops last season following poor results when he wanted to be at the club, imagine what he’ll be like when he doesn’t want to be at the club.

it's a savage indictment of the club though, I know people were annoyed because I suggested Eriksen couldn't make his mind up between Utd and Brentford but it's true, if Utd weren't such a **** show for the past ten years it's a non-decision. If Klopp called him this evening he'd be a Liverpool player tomorrow.

I presume he will go for free or a small price, unless he is willing to take a big drop in salary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,342 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

I thought the biggest consideration for Eriksen was that he wanted to stay in London?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,428 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

players want to win things, he won't even see Europe from Brentford. He's looking at Utd imo and thinking "what's the point?"

Looks like if de Jong takes a pay cut he will get his wish and stay at Barca.

Utd gave up on nunez because they expected ron to stay at utd.

Maybe if the club conducted itself like one with ambition I suppose, but sure that would be mad altogether.

All the reports of Nunez was that once he heard Liverpool were interested that's the only club he wanted to join. The above tweet seems an attempt to save face a little.

Also other than money why would you join United at this moment over Liverpool?

I don't think United were ever in for Nunez, either as they weren't prepared to meet the price or because they knew he was set on Liverpool or they planned on Ronaldo leading the line or the just plain and simple don't rate him that highly. Whichever option you choose I really don't think there was ever genuine interest there.

The club are beyond saving face at this point anyway 😂
