My Xperia L4 is now very slow to charge. This morning it said charging but the percentage charge was not changing. i blew compressed air into where the charger connects to phone. then the percentage started goping up. it was 25% at 1 Pm and now it is 98% . wasn't used since 1 pm except a couple text messages

I read up on this and one possobility is a failing battery. So I might need a new phone. Can anyone suggest a cheap one? i am not much into phones or apps. just need calls/ texts/ internet/ email

I've been using the moto g series the last number of years. Great phones for doing the basics I need. Currently have moto G31....€180 on Lenovo website or £150 on amazon

I was going to suggest a Poco X3 NFC, been a great phone for me, but price seems to have gone up quite a lot.

I think I got mine for 200 quid....seem to be 350 on Amazon now.

A good phone means different things to different people.

There's a lot to be said for what you already have. Would you look at getting a fresh battery put in it? If nothing else is bothering you, that would probably be €40-€60 really well spent.

That Alcatel you linked isn't a patch on your Sony. Much smaller screen with lower resolution. Far less storage and the 1GB of RAM would have made it crawl 4 years ago let alone now. You've got three times that in the Sony. Spend the money on getting that fixed. Much greener too!

The moto phone is sim free so no problem switching out sim.

I'd stay well clear of Alcatel.

What exactly is your budget and what do you want out of the phone ?

    Any update?

    Just to check...

Have you tried somebody else's charger on your phone or your charger on somebody else's phone?

A samsung A series (A52s) would be "higher end" for someone with your use case but a solid investment. Maybe look at an M series phone.

Just got a Moto G200. Don't recommend it or Lenovo costumer service.
