Grasslin QE7+ Immersion timer replacement

Hi All

My Grasslin QE7+ Immersion timer has given up the ghost, the clock doesnt seem to have the ability to switch the power on or off and the booster button stopped working, but it does seem to work in always on mode

My understanding is that Grasslin went bankrupt after so many product recalls in the late 200Xs, Any suggestions for a replacement?

Have one of these as well it comes apart easily once u just remove one screw and pop the front part of the new one on

I'm not so sure I'd want a pre owned immersion timer, tbh.

I didn't have a timer, and I've just bought this one, from Screwfix: https://www.screwfix.ie/p/lap-digital-immersion-timer/1804r . It does have a boost function, and the unit can also be set to permanently on or off.

In relation to fitting it yourself I'd advise caution. Immersion heaters draw a heavy load and if not wired properly can overheat and be a serious hazard.

Very easy to replace yourself. You leave the back part (that is mounted to the wall) in place. The front of the unit comes off after you remove one screw on the edge of the case

There is a plug that connects the front and back with 4 spade connectors, they are fairly tight so you will have to give it a good pull to get it off. I think the connectors are in the bottom right. Turn off the power before u pull it off, just in case it decides to break. No need to touch the wiring just pop the new timer on & reuse old back

I didn't yet! I had an electrician lined up to install a replacement for me, but he never showed up!

He was going to install a replacement analog device but i was hoping tp find something a bit more modern (perhaps app controlled)

With the price of electricity, I need to get it sorted soon... Let me know if you have any luck!

I will. It seems to be working again but when it gives further trouble I'll probably go with the @NewClareman suggestion above.
