@growleaves You seen that on the telly too?

I believe someone mentioned that has a deal breaker!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,178 ✭✭✭Sunny Disposition

Not a total deal breaker, but I think that Irish people taking the Premier League really seriously is pretty stupid. People calling their team 'we' , getting really excited over beating Liverpool or Man Utd etc. It's okay for kids, adults going nuts over it even though they only watch the matches on television is really stupid. It's like being a super fan of Fair City. Would be quite tolerant of it until the age of about 17, after that it's time to grow up.

Lunster fans - people who support both Leinster and Munster

People who are always going on ad hominem "how cool I am at my job!!!!"

Anybody who sounds like they should work for the DAA, HSE, etc with all their moaning.

Anybody who is always going on about his crap van / laptop : "a poor workman always blames his tools"

"While I do not go around constantly judging people - as I am not a Christian "

Don't know if this has been pointed out as I couldn't be bothered reading the thread, but this is one of the most hypocritical and contradictory comments I've read. Doesn't judge people, instantly judges about 2 and half billion people. 😵

Anyone who insists you go through a door first after you were already the first to give the gesture for them to go through first. Particularly annoying when that person was nearest to the door when it happened. I've no problem going first if they happened to gesture first! Some people are desperate to appear as the dominant.

Anyone who insists that you proceed in a defined manner for everything no matter how trivial.

Common trait among some Irish people, celebrities and common folk alike

I remember Yassar Arafat and an Israeli leader being in such a stand-off years ago, neither would go first and both featured to the other to lead the way. Given the situation it became impossible for either to back down.

Bill Clinton solved it by managing to open a second half to the entrance so both could enter at the same time.

Anyone, who as a passenger, reaches over and beeps the horn without your permission.

Not as egregious but I'd also include passengers that adjust your carefully set ventilation settings without asking. Gave a friend a lift recently and he started twiddling the vent knobs like a madman and left them in a very undesirable(for me) configuration but I couldn't do a damn thing because I was trying to concentrate on driving on a busy motorway.

People who drive while using their phone, and drink drivers.

Sure, got to be able to turn it on / off. Or at the very least show a fleeting glimpse?

The negative moaners who moan about how Ireland is yet will defend it if criticised. You have to make the best of a shite situation and at the same time fight for a better life ...at least thats what I think we are meant to do

People who can’t abide silence or unaware they have or should have a personal volume switch….. Like the two ladies outside my window now, cackling away like Elmo and the Cookie Monster…. One or both must be a bit Mutt and Jeff… Jesus fûckin Christ, arghhh.

i was never a big fan of a radio on in the office but this bizarre head melt used to start her shift by walking in two hours after us, turning on the radio to a pretty powerful volume,,,and sometimes even hum along to the tunes… regardless if anyone was on a call, having a conversation or just a hangover… she’d then sit down start going through her emails while yapping on the phone to a mate in another department as if they hadn’t heard from each other for 6 months while the rest of us compete for headspace..

People who book their summer holidays in January tend to be well, simultaneously shallow and hollow.

You know the sort, 6 months looking forward to a fortnight in June followed by 6 months reminiscing about same.

    Conspiracy theorists.

People who lecture about anything if given the chance.

People who never ask anyone elses opinion.

People who chuckle that they owe somebody else <<something>> but won't pay them back because they're lower class than themselves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,048 ✭✭✭growleaves

Yep but they have to spend 11.5 months of the year farting in their office chair in their pointless cog-in-the-machine job.

Aren't they just organised and book their holiday early to take advantage of sales and have something to look forward to?

Here's one: people who hear about someone else taking pleasure in something harmless that they enjoy, like a summer holiday they're looking forward to, and feel angry about it...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,048 ✭✭✭growleaves

I don't feel angry about it, I'm just pointing out to the OP that people will look forward to 6-monthly holidays if they spend the entire year doing unpleasant work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,281 ✭✭✭✭El_Duderino 09

Most people spend the entire year doing work, please or unpleasant. I can't see any harm people booking a holiday to look forward to or, god forbid, talking about something there looking forward to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 313 ✭✭NedsNotDead

I agree with most of that. Nothing wrong with people booking holidays early and looking forward to it.

I have however had the misfortune to work with a couple of people who literally spent the first half of the year talking about their upcoming holidays.

That's when it starts to grate a bit

People going on holidays and spending the entire time talking about the job they're in 11.5 months of the year.

Agents in PC tech support who say "I know the solution to this problem but the solution would take far too long for me to solve with the caller" This act was termed "A SCHMOO" back in the day

This attitude was prevalent when I worked in PC tech support. ( Worked in this field up to 2002 twenty years ago)

    People who call kids “smallies”

    No. You can't teach kind.

I have a very low tolerance for meanness or being nasty to me though. Im like the princess and the pea with vibes in that way.

Westlife fans, stop wasting your time, they are fooking brutal.
