Any chance you'd be willing to sell just the left shifter?? I know it's a long shot but worth asking! Mine gave up the ghost at the weekend and I'm stuck in the little ring. It'll shift up but nothing happens on the down shift to release.

Not at the minute. But it sounds like yours would be fixable given your description. Flush the shifter from the underside with WD-40, that could cure it!

Not to worry man. Ah I think the spring that would release the tension on the cable is gone. That little bit of metal sticking out is suppes to go back with the lever itself.

That happens every shift up on my R7000. I have gotten so used to it now I hardly notice. I just push that little metal thing back in with my thumb and it stays till the next shift up.

I also have a little plastic shim stuck in there so the trigger will be met. There's a video re this issue somewhere on YT I'll try and find for you

It's not the exact issue you're trying to fix but it's related. Those R7000 shifters are pure muck.

I don't want to hijack the original post but thanks for the suggestions guys. I have been in contact with both Shimano and the shop I bought the bike from (Harry's Bikes in Clonskeagh). I've still got about 9 weeks left on my warranty from Shimano so there's the outside possibility it may still be covered. I didn't realise that Shimano give a 2 year warranty, thought it was only 1year.
