Thanks, assuming these are ones traded in to avail of their upgrade offer? If so, some could be pretty used.

I also got one of the cheap "Used - good" kindles.

Didn't come in original packaging, was reboxed, came with cable though.

I got the white colour, it appears to be in pretty good condition. Possibly kept in a case. Works well so far.

It's a pity we can't check the batter life or charge cycles of these to see how much use they've really had.

To write back on the projector for 50 euro from No chat thread..

Deal: Mini Projector, ClokoWe WiFi Projector with Projection Screen 1080P Full HD, 9000 Lux Portable Video Projector Compatible with Smartphone TV Stick PS5 HDMI USB, Multimedia Home Movie Theater Projector https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09WV3HQW5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dl_G2KDXY2ZWAND9YDJTKS7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I’m actually very pleased with this for 50 euro!! We have it set up in a shed, great for Sports and movies running off phone connection over USB, haven’t tried a Roku or Fire Stick yet . But bit of a buzz , not amazing quality and the fan is quite loud, but very pleased with it for 50eur!

    Sorry, forgot to update

Wasn't too pushed on the screen so projected directly to the wall.

Set up was easy, picture was great, streaming from my firestick with no problems. In saying that, I don't think it's up to much outdoors unless it's a dark evening

Fan was quite loud but acceptable once I got used to it.

Sound was fine but I ended up using my echo dot as a Bluetooth speaker.

All in all, very happy with it, totally worth just under E70.

The kids loved watching Pixar movies on it.

Worth the money for occasional use

I paid €52 for it, happy out. Quality not fantastic, but for 50 quid, I’m not complaining.

Fan isn’t too loud, you get used to it.

I hung the screen up and it stretched out nice.

I bought something for the first long while on Amazon.

What's the story with the import fees and deposit charge? Do they remove UK VAT and add Ireland VAT? Will I get charged more when it arrives?

And before, I had the option to pay in GBP or Euros. This time it showed both GBP and Euros but said it would be charged in GBP. How could I have paid in Euros?

this was the email they sent regards brexit and shipping to Ireland

    VAT & Duties Calculation

    -----------------------------------

When shopping on Amazon.co.uk, all prices are shown inclusive of UK VAT before checkout but this is removed and updated with any Irish VAT and / or duties that are due when you proceed to checkout and select an Irish delivery address. Here are some common examples:

On orders less than €150 dispatched from Amazon UK (Irish VAT due):

    - The price you see before checkout is inclusive of UK VAT, at the appropriate rate (e.g. 20%).

    - UK VAT is removed at checkout and you will instead see Irish VAT applied (e.g. 23%) once an Irish delivery address is selected.

    - E.g. a cable with a price of €15.18 (including UK VAT), changes to €15.55 at checkout (€12.65 with UK VAT removed + €2.90 Irish VAT added).

On orders more than €150 dispatched from Amazon UK (custom duties and taxes where applicable):

    - The price you see before checkout is inclusive of UK VAT (e.g. 20%).

    - UK VAT is removed at checkout and once an Irish delivery address is selected

you will instead see 1) an item price which excludes VAT, and 2) an Import Fee Deposit which includes Irish VAT (23%), and any applicable duties (for some products no duties are applied).

    - E.g. a ladies coat with a price of €200.92 (including UK VAT) changes to €230.65 at checkout (UK VAT is removed and replaced with Irish VAT and duties, which in this example would be €167.43 ex-VAT price + €63.22 Import Fee Deposit and Irish VAT).

On orders dispatched from Marketplace Sellers:

    - The price of items which are dispatched from our Marketplace Sellers are inclusive of any applicable VAT and duties, and no further payment will be due. If for any reason you are charged additional costs (e.g., by customs authorities), in addition to the purchase price and delivery, you can contact the Seller to request a refund of these costs.

    - Should the Seller not reply or resolve the issue for you, you are eligible to file an A-to-Z Guarantee claim with us to request a refund.

If I buy something from them now and use address pal (cause they won’t ship this item to Ireland) I was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of charges I’ll be facing?

    item is £65

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,522 ✭✭✭Wheety

You will be paying UK VAT.

    Plus 23% Irish VAT

Then AddressPal fee of €6.50? And €3.50 An Post fee for processing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,663 ✭✭✭✭loyatemu

    £65 is about €77

plus 10 for the AP fees = €87

add 23% VAT brings it to €107

AddressPal calculation is: total price in euro+0.23*(total price in euro+6.50)+6.50+3.50

Used it once and they had sent the items back when i arrived.

One arrived on Monday, the next on Wednesday. I went up on Thursday and both were gone back.

If you could specify that everything be in the same box i think it might work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,272 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

Jaysus arrived on Wednesday and they sent it back by following day! That’s brutal.

Ive just one item. I also might be half way there on Friday but not sure it would arrive by then.

My mistake was not ringing before i went up.

Done this multiple times and they kept it for 7/8 days no hassle.

You must have been using the Amazon locker where items are held for up to 3 days. See this

However if you use click and collect the items are held for up to 18 days. I use it a few times every year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,590 ✭✭✭Roberto_gas

Is this north? Or we have them down south also?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,367 ✭✭✭JimmyVik

How do you choose to use the 18 day option?

I dont remember getting a choice. Only used it for the two orders though.

    In NI usually post offices.

when ordering the main page will say "this item is eligible for click and collect". There are restrictions on the size and weight of the items though.
