I just upgraded XP home to Profreesional, installed ok etc, but when I restart my machine just before I go into the desktop it say "loading peersonal settings" this takes ages, I get tired of it and just do CTRL ALT DEL to get into desktop. Should I do this or is it meant to take a while the first time you upgrade?

Might take a while, especially the first time. How long is "ages"?

(defragging your hard drive will probably help - always do it after if you must do an upgrade install of an operating system rather than a clean install)
