Balearic Islands to introduce drink limits

All booze promotions banned. No more booze cruises. 3 drink limit in Restaurants. 6 drinks max per day in all inclusive hotels.

I reckon the residents had the greatest year of their lives in 2020. Things would have been a little livelier in 2021 and are dreading this summer. Obviously the drink/drug 18-30 market is quite lucrative but would it be really worth it when you can't enjoy your own home?

All they need is larger glasses to get around it 😂

I'd love to know just how lucrative the drink and drug crowd are to anyone except drug dealers. Only real piss-up holiday I went on was 400 apiece for 2 weeks in an apartment including flights and transfers. Most nights were just pub to pub using all the get-you-in-the-door promos, got pissed pretty much every night for 20-30 quid. Considering the cut the Irish/British people getting us in the door would be getting it really seems like razor-thin margins and large volume is the only way to make money from it and as you ask OP, is it worth it?

This is all “optics” - nothing more. The reality will be different and anyway with only a few resorts it’s even less likely to be an issue for most travelling there.

Aye, it'll end up like Amsterdam not selling weed to foreigners. Remember that was definitely going to happen next year for about 10 **** years? 🤣

Who's going to keep count of how many drinks people have had in the hotel (and how many hotels they've been to?)

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I cant see how they will enforce it. If someone doesn't drink, they'll just order booze for their companions - with a bottle of water.

And what about bottles of wine? Will it count as one drink? Or six?

You can relax and drink as much as you like.

The new rules only apply to inclusive deals.

You can go into a bar/restaurant and drink your fill or go into a supermarket and bring the drink back to where you are staying and make a night of it.

Yes it's not the entire islands, just certain areas within them. It's also for all inclusive holidays only. 6 drinks a day max.

If you're going down to a pub or restaurant outside the hotel, there's not some sort of 3 drink limit in place.

If it's your thing, you'll still be able to drink way more than 3 drinks with a meal, or six drinks a day. You just won't be able to do it by staying at your hotel all day and taking advantage of the endless included drinks.

Maybe the bar owners and the drug dealers are the same people? Vertical integration, beer is a loss leader and you make all your money on the oul' nieve.
