Internal cracks - timber frame

    What's the best way of fixing these cracks on an internal wall of a timber frame house. Opposite sides of a door frame.

    Did you try flexible caulk already? With the way that the bottom one is tearing at the top, I'd wonder if there is plasterer's mesh underneath, so don't go at the cracks with a knife in case you break the mesh. Just pick at it with a blunt knife and then caulk it, sand, re-caulk and paint (and don't slam the door).

    You're right, I had a closer look at it last night with a putty knife and yes indeed, there's skrim tape behind it so it obviously happened before.

    I do not know what the photographs are showing.

    is it possible to upload more photos and if it is possible to show the entire wall with a doorway or window or a dog, anything? so I will know what I’m looking at.
