Max amount of watts to draw for a standard house plug for a specific device

Hi All,

I am looking to get high power pressure washer rated at 3300W. Would I be able to run it from normal house socket via extension lead of up to 25 - 50m (I persume I would have to get 3x 2.5mm^2 one)?

Are you sure it's 3300W?

If so it will exceeed your plug's rating. But somehow I doubt it's 3.3kW

Some units are rated at 16A.

These would normally be fed using a specific 16A round IP-rated plug and not using a 13A mains feed, no.

What kind of modification of my electrical system I would have to get done to get it going at 3300W (https://www.avaofnorway.com/pressure-washers/evolution-series/evolution-p90)?

It is a free standing dwelling so it is all up to me (within regulations).

I'd say you would need to get a registered electrical contractor to install a dedicated circuit and round 16A socket.

You can also expect to pay between €50 and €60 for a suitable 25m extension reel. I'd suggest any extension carrying a heavy current should only be used when fully unwound to avoid possible overheating.

The REC will install an RCBO thereby giving you the additional protection which may not be present on the existing circuits. You'll want that extra protection if you're going to be mixing wires & water.

I will make few calls and see what can be done. What kind of price would be conisdered a fair deal for a job like that?
