Looks like a good day on paper/screen but wouldn't count on it, major cloud cover...

Couldn't help myself.....sorry! But this March has been unreal..

Yeah, it's been good, looking like I'll be 170kWh+ ahead of forecast for the month.

Jan and Feb were below forecast, so swings and roundabouts etc.

Maybe I was wrong about today:

Best day yet since I installed my system end of October last year 41.3 kWh.. (6.1kWp Cork)

The afternoon got cloudy unfortunately but topped off the month nicely with 761 kWh total👌

Record breaking day for me today, and first time breaking the 20kWh mark…

Goodness I’m looking forward to the first summer of Solar!!

(put 11kWh into the car too!!)

30kwh in the end today and a pretty wild curve where it spiked to 7kwh a few times 😁

    image.png

Cracking month, a very unexpected 709kwh in the end

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,890 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

Yup, wild crazy curve here too. Maddest I've seen, but a hefty 20+ again.

65% increase this March compared to last.

    Eco

Well done , are they ground mounted or on house ? 👍👍

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,666 ✭✭✭ECO_Mental

They are all mounted on my roof of my house, again I'm lucky in that I don't have a chimney or stove in my house or has it any hips or valleys. My house is one of those Irish vernacular houses with a very simple roof design, but I have two roofs like the photo below (not my house) I could actually fit 2 or 3 more panels on and I am bit disappointed I didn't but I decided for 6kW as that was the size of the inverter.

This is my first days production. It peaked at 6.85kW, which I guess isn’t bad for a 7.2kW install. My battery was fully charged by 11 and the hot water tank took 7.2 kWh

We will need to get used to maxing usage in the middle of the day. The missus put the dryer on at 4pm and emptied the battery even though we exported 4kWh in the early afternoon.

    23.8kWh today

    32.7... with 15kwh exported!

Tomorrow is poor but Monday is bad by the looks of it!

20.4kwh for my first full day of generation. 6.4 kw system. 12kwh diverted to water heating.

Turned out to be good day after not great day promised. Tomorrow looks reasonable and then looks like really poor week ahead

What an utterly shocking day here! Think will charge my batteries tonight for first time in a while as not taking chance on tomorrow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,602 ✭✭✭SD_DRACULA

Tomorrow is estimated to be worse than today so you're probably safe to do it

Whole week looks like 🐶💩 in Dublin actually.

A scandalous 3.6kWh today. Lowest figure since March 2nd.

    Charging overnight again tonight.

Great to see things working above spec, 5.76kWp of panels on South 5kWp inverter but hitting 7kW thanks to DC-coupled battery and I guess great panels.

    5.2kWh today. Still miserable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,275 ✭✭✭irishchris

A surprising improvement today saying as weather has been promised worse than yesterday. 12.3kwh for a wild wet day here.

Tomorrow is more of the same but going to keep fingers crossed and turn charging off again tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,602 ✭✭✭SD_DRACULA

Crazy day today but ended up with 21kwh and a few record peaks 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,116 ✭✭✭paulbok

Same, hit 103.5% production on my 6.84kwh setup at one stage.

28.3kw was impressive as the weather was scutter most of the day. Still trickling in, the longer days having an impact.

Absolute shocker of a day here today with hail, rain and wind but ended up with decent return for the day

    Screenshot_2022-04-06-20-53-23-329_io.homeassistant.companion.android.jpg

Got some nice sustained peaks like this too.

EDIT: @irishchris how is it that your myenergi shows 8.2Kw incoming when you have a 6Kw inverter? Just when I think I understand my brain melts!

I had a decent day but I think there is something up with my setup. I never hit over 6kwp on myenergi even though my setup is 6.8kwp. Does below look like clipping (my inverter can take 9kw in though?). Could inverter be causing this?

    More than one inverter ;)

    Mine never passes 6kw either

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 208 ✭✭harderthanf

ah, was thinking it might be the nominal power setting on the DC side, set to just 6000w, I thought changing that might allow more

Also, more than one inverter - now I'm even more confused. What controls the max output to the grid, and keeps it <= 6kw, do the 2 inverters communicate in some way?

Ah, thats where it gets a little bit more complicated.

but in essence you only need 1 inverter to throttle its output to prevent max output to grid.
