They are savage pics Davey. I've started a new thread in the games forums to share screenshots of anyone wants to post their pics.

So apparently we're getting a Spartacus announcement in the next week.

Not sure when Now games usually get announced but the Plus games are due to be revealed on Wednesday so maybe hear about Spartacus then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,405 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Thinking that as well about the Wednesday. Exciting stuff but expecting a letdown with either content, price or both.

Hoping the Batman Arkham collection gets added, itching for an Asylum or City playthrough.

I think people are setting themselves up for a disappointment, its just gonna be a rejigging of the services they already have. I imagine it will be slightly more convenient for some people and slightly less for others, thats it

One of the reasons that he is the most irritating person on the internet is how easily excitable and massively prone to exaggeration he is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,307 ✭✭✭The Phantom Pain

    You hate everyone.

Greg comes across as extremely sweet and sincere, and his excitement is reflective of his positive attitude in general. I mean, is he not allowed to look forward to things he deems interesting? And he did say they're just rumours to be fair.

I've watched/listened to a ton of Kinda Funny content since the beginning of the pandemic, particularly the In Review and PS I Love You XOXO series. Gregg definitely has a louder personality than everyone else but I can't say he's necessarily exaggerates anything? I probably wouldn't watch as often if he was over the top.

He's fairly well connected in the industry and a big PlayStation fanboy so if he's getting excited about something I'll probably tune in.

I liked Greg up until 2 days ago when he did a reaction video to the deleted scene from The Batman and he didn't like it. Greg's opinion means nothing to me anymore :D

I went off him when he was asked where New Zealand was on the map and said it was next to Ukraine.

he is like a child high on sugar . i still listen to his playstation podcast once a week with blessing and janet garcia but i'd defo pick colin over Greg since the split . Last stand better content way better content and shows in patreon numbers .

Greg was the guy who got me into trophy hunting (whereas I previously had no interest), completely changing my viewpoint and approach to 'completion'. Whenever he finished a game it wasn't enough for him to say, "I've completed it", he'd have to say, "I've platinumed it" to make a point that he has explored all the game had to offer and so was equipped to provide his opinion. My taste in games tends to align with his to the point where I trust his opinion more than anyone on the panel. The only other person who comes close, taste wise, is Janet.

Alongside his warm-hearted spirit, his survival story about his battle with cancer was inspiring. Youtube needs more positive, well meaning people like him rather than clickbaity, emotionally stunted edgelords who thrive on their equally unpleasant audience's anger to make money. There's enough of those. Colin being one such example.

Greg is also very respected within the industry and developers regularly consult him, but then when you're successful and good at what you do you're always gonna get the player haters, I guess.

Didn't mean to start a conversation about Greg.

For what it's worth, there's two sides to Greg; the journalist/commentator, and the entertainer. Personally I like both, but I can see why some might not like the entertainer side of him in particular.

Regardless, he's pretty well connected, so hopefully he's at least partially right and there's some exciting news coming beyond Spartacus (which is something pretty much everyone has had sussed for months).

great way of putting it ! The two sides . i like Greg the gamer but not that the personality as much . The entertainer stuff is fake as f**k.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,157 ✭✭✭Markitron

Yea I think that's it, the enthusiasm comes across as forced AF to me and he just seemed to get louder and louder as time went on. I think Colin balanced him out quite a bit but then they both went completely off the rails (in very different ways) when KF got really big.

I don't really listen to or watch many games podcasts/shows anymore, but when I do they tend to be British. In general they are a bit more reserved and I prefer their humour.

why don't you give Last stand media a go . has biggest gaming patreon still i think . colin has chris ray gun & dustin furman on with him on playstation pod & lord cognitio and mr matty plays on xbox one . has other people on too like dustin's friend ben smith and colins girlfriend micah . I don't agree with some of the stuff colin says but some stuff that is said about him is nonsense .

Stopped watching the KF gaming stuff a long while ago, and went off them in general near the start of the pandemic.

The gaming stuff tended to be just read off and summarize articles and then one person asks the other a single question for which you just get an nothing super short answer.

Greg is in the Jimmy Fallon category for me. They seem like they are nice enough but the overreacting to stuff just comes across as not being genuine. Jimmy, those guests and not that funny that you need to bend over laughing and slapping the desk.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭brady12

what annoys me about alot of the people in games media is they batter likes of hogwarts legacy over JK rowling but turn a blind eye to likes of disco elysium developers having a picture of a genocidal manic in stalin on their office wall. And in KF case they have cheek to take moral high ground on certain things but yet have no problem taking 10 cents money to sponsor epic games and we all know what chinese communist party are doing to muslims in that country . don't throw stones in glass houses .

The above discussion and my complete ignorance on pretty much all the topics discussed highlights to me how little I engage with gaming culture. I got to say I'm happy to remain ignorant. I looked on the Kinda Funny Youtube page and saw a load of reaction videos to movie and game trailers which is enough to make me never watch anything produced by them ever. I honestly couldn't give a **** what a bunch of manbabies think about JK Rowling or Tencent or indie developers having portraits of despots hanging in their studios. I see enough of that scutter the few times I use Twitter.

I'm happy enough to get my news from this forum and leave it at that tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,248 ✭✭✭Damien360

i am in the same boat as above, no interest in reaction videos….

But, who is Greg that you are all discussing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,157 ✭✭✭Markitron

Back before the split, Greg had absolutely no problem setting all of his rabid twitter followers on anyone that disagreed with Colin's crazy views. The idea that he is a nice guy is a myth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,843 ✭✭✭✭Penn

Greg Miller, formerly of IGN, but left and co-founded Kinda Funny (a Youtube/Podcasts/Patreon kind of company which does games and general entertainment stuff) about 6 or 7 years ago.

Also hosts some games awards shows sometimes. He's just generally an entertainment figure and journalist/commentator in the games industry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,307 ✭✭✭The Phantom Pain

You mean like the way Colin used to set his followers on Kallie Plagge? Colin is a bigot. Any aggro that comes his way is deserved.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,162 ✭✭✭The Raging Bile Duct

Some sort of excitable gaming journalist and "personality" as far as I can make out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭brady12

Greg did the same thing with trump supporters . set his followers on them Again throwing stones in glass houses . Now i hate Donald Trump but i still don't agree with that .
