"I don't fancy you but we'll go for a drink."

How to tell a woman you don't want her long term but she'll do for the night if she's up for it!

Rare occasion where a girl has no idea how good looking she is and gives a dorky dude a chance

He's in fair good shape physically. I'd say he'd have loads of goodlooking women after him.

So a couple that were on it before, and got engaged since, are on it next week?

Must be running out of entrants.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,471 ✭✭✭_NAGDEFY

I agree. Though I've met girls a 2-3 hrs drive away who could see no problem with it at all. I couldn't do it. I don't like driving, for over an hour in general, either.

He was really wobbly, like Forrest Gump before he got the leg braces.

Haven’t watched the last 3 or so episodes and have only intermittently read the thread. Lot has happened since my appearance in the show. Had retired and have been living beside the sea in Donegal.

1/4 way through a 2 book crime fiction novel about a barrister with a wild side…launching a product that combines my two talents of true crime and cocktails but in the last month have taken on a role that will see me move permanently to Bermuda…god willing.

But I have to admit that having a look on here, Twitter and FB the comments are definitely getting harsher and more cutting. Took me a couple of days and a lot of messages from strangers(including a good few here) saying nice things that made the albeit small amount of hurtful things pale into insignificance.

I’ll have to watch the episodes over the next while…was thinking of applying again..not sur if I can now with my emigrant status. I’d like to but I really felt let down with the whole thing even though myself and my wonderful date are still in touch and laugh about the bad edit 😂😂😂

You were included in the opening montage tonight and there have been a few returning participants so I’d say you’d be in with a good shot if you wanted to do it again. I suppose it would depend on whether you were living abroad full time or not.

The teachers that allowed should walk, but they never will. Something similar happened at our Debs. It was so predicatable; the self appointed 'cool lads' managed to get themselves voted in to the best positions and had about 20 ones where they just got nasty with other lads.

Some teachers and some teenagers are just total cnuts.

😂😂😂 I was wondering why all of a sudden I had a spike in both abusive messages and nice ones earlier.

As for reapplying I’m not sure. Firstly to appear I was very lucky as I was one 5000 applicants. I don’t feel I was portrayed in the best way and I think that being open on this thread would do me any favours. Also the effect it had on me was without mincing words was very damaging. I’m not sure if I would allow a production company to mess with my emotions (and also my dates emotions) again. I’ve said it here before but nobody can understand how deep peoples posts can cut.

Also, I think it’s moving away from a glimpse into a first date into xfactor esque sob stories that while significant to people’s lives is not why I applied and certainly not what I feel a date should be.

Without wanting to be mean, the tatooed grandmother was a pure oddball I thought. Her date seemed like good craic.

The lesbians were nice people if slightly annoying. I assumed the brunette would be friendzoned. Not surprised that nothing came of it.

The Eastern European girl and your man must be one of the most boring dates in the show's history. Not a single interesting thing uttered by either of them.

The part time model was a 10, seemed sound aswell. I liked the dyspraxia fella a lot, he came across as one of the more normal people that's been on the show in recent times.

5000 applicants? Where did you hear that?

I don't think they have that many applicants tbh. They're always on the radio each year asking for people to sign up and there's been many return daters which suggests to me that they're running light on people.
