Must listen back to the part of today's effort when the "big picture" guy was on. Not exaggerating for effect when I say I think that could have been one of Joe's lowest point ever. The way he lost the plot with "pew ryle", "big picture", "are you average intelligence are ya", brining up chess then getting mixed up with pawns and ending up snapping at the caller then for mentioning chess, pointing out places on maps. There was also plenty of "so what you're saying is... (insert extreme point that the caller never said here)".

It was like something you'd see at 3am when a belligerent punter gets thrown out of a pub and has a go at the bouncer. It was just pathetic to be honest. It's funny to see a bully make a fool of himself but when I think about it it's actually a bit sad to see a 65 year old man slowly loose it and just make such a show of himself in public. Its just pathetic.

Looking at the BBC News this evening and their reporters were in Kiev and other cities for their reports.

All the RTE reporters are skulking around the borders of Ukraine but not setting foot inside?

Excise Duty to be reduced by this useless government by between €0,.15 & €0.20 cent per litre on Diesel and Petrol from midnight Wednesday, no word on home heating oil.

As I type, I suspect forecourt owners increasing prices now to get a few more hours of gouging out of Irish consumers 😡

I'm amazed they've any reporters in the region, but of course , their foreign Editor (who knew they had one ) in Afghanistan reporting on the plight of Wimmin , awful that it is, do we need a reminder about how the Taliban operates

A young socialist worker rises through the ranks to today; a crazy dictator mad with power, in the job well past his sell by date who can't handle any criticism and will lash out if he thinks he can get away with it Joe.

Judging by the background on this lad, he probably goes through Walter Mitty type delusional episodes. You'd hope most armies can weed out crackjobs, psychopaths and lads trying to act big before they even get into the country. The Ukrainians might be desperate though

The last place you need guys like that is on the battlefield imo

Handy all the same that the lad managed to get his certificate to work as a pub doorman just in case all this world famous international protection officer battling against demons and evil spirits/close protection officer of celebrities and royalty/fully trained battlefield veteran in the field of combat etc. etc. malarkey had a bit of down time.

If he is genuinely off to Ukraine and it is all not just another fantasy then I think RTE has some sort of duty of care to step in after their shocking lack of research allowed him so much airtime.

    No.

    Monday was just Rambo's mother.

Tuesday was Rambo, followed by Luke's mother, then Luke (who it appears was sitting beside her so neither of them needed to go on the radio to have their conversation) and finally Rambo's mother again.

A potential cyber attack on RTE by de Russians, perhaps they will steal the code for the RTE Player to use against their own people, no company can figure out how to monumentally fook something up so much...

The Cabinet was also warned about the potential for a cyber attack on RTÉ in retaliation for the economic sanctions imposed on Russia following the invasion of Ukraine. This included banning Russian state media from broadcasting across the EU and on social media platforms.

Arts Minister Catherine Martin said her department was liaising with RTÉ to ensure it could continue broadcasting in the event of a cyber attack.

The memo said RTÉ had built “resilience into their systems” to protect against attacks. Last night, RTÉ said it was in regular contact with the department and added it was “subject to cyber attacks on an almost daily basis”.

    Bizarre show yesterday.

It's an awful clusterfck at times when you have guests on who can't articulate coherently what they're trying to say and then Joe takes umbrage with them and proceeds to gaslight them and put words in their mouth, without fully bothering to understand them in the first place. The levels of confusion just multiply on each other.

Thought Joe was really bad and petulant dealing with the callers yesterday who were at odds with him.

That Rhys lad wasn't the full shilling.

I'm just flabbergasted someone senior in RTE not asking serious questions about the appropriateness of what's being discussed over the past few days .I'd also have to question if it's true, this Rhys , fellas background, does any researcher on the live line actually do any research 🤔 , we're constantly being told this is a caller led show which is utter nonsense, with few exceptions (the one's that object to Joe's nonsense) over the past week, every caller let it slip, they were contacted by researchers, producers etc, the only thing leading this show is the Hosts quite alarming and disturbing agenda.

I wonder will our Host discuss the outrageous gouging that occurred over night at Fuel stations over night. My local station increased prices by €0.06 cent a litre, in my nearest Town, the same , of course it had nothing to do with excise duty being reduced at midnight tonight. There's truly some disgusting gouging F*****R'S in this country. 😡

Something very 'off' as well with these so-called callers from Ukraine with their voice messages to the WhatsApp number. It's not remotely credible for a minute that there are so many Liveline listeners in Ukraine so they are obviously being sourced from somewhere we are not being told about. They are all obviously scripted rather than being spontaneous and almost sound like they are being read by actors. Very odd.

I am more and more convinced that Rhys is a fantasist/spoofer. Also, according to the Indo headline he's an "ex-Irish soldier" when Rhys never ever mentioned being in the Irish army.

Totally agree, station by me 1.85 on Friday. On Sunday 1.99.99 😡😡,

Small town they know that they have people by the balls.

They can fcuk off from now on with me

I was praising Reece for his bravery when I first heard the story but after reading his background I actually feel sorry for the lad as he obviously is not playing with the full deck.

Declan Power(?) on Pat Kenny now spelling out exactly how some of these 'soldiers' may react in real war situations.

You would have thought the clever thing to do would be not to plaster your name all over the Internet before you go over there.

I was reading an article at the weekend that featured an interview with a Swedish lad going over to fight. He didn't allow them to photograph his face and didn't give them his real name as he said the first thing is potential captors would do is Google him for information.

I wonder will Rhys even make it over there. Does feel like a lot of attention seeking and coupled with all that other stuff about "ghost hunting" from his past, he sounds like a header tbh.
