Phonewatch Simon XT panel problem

Hello

Hoping someone can help

My sister moved into a secondhand house and there was a Phonewatch Alarm fitted Simon XT Panel

There is a recurring problem where every approx 12hrs it beeps and says "Motion detector hallway alarm communication failure"

I replaced the battery in the hallway detector but it still announces same message every 12 hours

Can anyone help me to either bypass the motion detector or delete it or whatever else you think I can do

I would try taking the battery out and put a piece of cable across the terminals for a couple of seconds.

Then replace the battery and see if the light comes on on the device.

Thanks for that do you mean the battery in motion detector or panel itself

I replaced battery in motion sensor it flashed red for a time after then stopped

Alarm still announces Comm failure hall motion detector every approx 12 hrs

Yes the battery in the motion but by the sounds of it, it may be faulty, as its giving a communication error with the control panel.

The sensor lighting up like that is correct as its a way of putting it ion walk test with led enabled.

Thanks again is there any way I can stop it announcing fault every 12 hrs is driving them crazy

I presume I could power down panel and just leave it as they don't have the master code and phonewatch are no help

You would need the detector replaced.

You could down power also.
