HKC GSM WiFi card

Hi all, I finally got around to upgrading my GSM-Q card and replacing it with the WiFi card, I have it installed now and have my installation ID and password set up. I can set my alarm from the app, however when I go to unset the alarm I’m getting the following error

”Unset requires prox. Please contact

our installer.

This has thrown me as I’m using a 1070 panel with firmware 4.30 on it, to the best of my knowledge, the 1070 keypad doesn’t support this feature. Anyone any suggestions as to where I may have gone wrong?

Have you added a prox to the system?

The 1070 does have this feature if a prox keypad is installed.

If not, then go into the user menu, user options for that user and select no for code and prox.

Hi Altor, Ive another question if you don't mind, I got a notification this evening to a mains fauly on my panel, as it turns out, ESB arrived out to install a new smart meter, anyway, due to loss of power and obviously wifi, I wasn't able to send back an unset command via the app, the panel was just beeping at home, not a major big deal, but anyway, on my old gsm-q dialer I would have been able to text my alarm and unset it, can I still use this method with the gsm wifi card, I did try texting back the securecomm text, but no luck there.

If you have the GSM/Wifi installed then after a few minutes you can connect back to the panel over the GSM if Wifi is down.

If you have an alarm activation while one path is just gone down then the system sends it over both paths to HKC server, then onto your phone. The hope with this is one of the paths are alive.

If sending a text to the system you would also have to wait for it to connect over the GSM.

If you try this: code (1111) status

Do you get a text reply?

Nope, aint getting a reply when i sent a status message text, When i go into setting and send test messages from keypad, I do get that message. I manually switched off alarm activation sms ok as I was getting a notification and a text and I felt there was no need for both. I might take a look again tomorrow at the GSM and text options again, thanks Altor

Very strange as if I do it I get a delivery report then the test with address and system status.

Id ask installer to look into that for you as there is no reason why it wouldn't work.

Tried it with alarm sms off and the status still worked.

They can be picked up in wholesaler's, here is a link to suppliers.

If you have engineer code its a easy swap out and setup

Ok, there lies my problem, I dont see any number at all, on my iphone I get a text from a contact called SecureComm and when i go into info of that contact, there in no number attached to it.

Picked up the wifi card and a new keypad on adverts, I'm also going to add a smoke, fire and carbon monoxide detector to the system also. The card is easily fitted and comes with full instructions, word of note though, I needed to get a local installation company to upgrade the firmware on my panel as it was only on Ver 3.1. You will also need the engineers code for you panel. I had mine as I installed the system myself a few years ago, I replaced an 8/12 panel with the 1070 panel.

Hi all, I recently purchased a HKC Gsm/wifi card and fitted to my alarm but when the seller from adverts was talking me setup HKC was trying to charge €120 per year. I know it can be gotten around the €60ish mark. Does anyone know how I can get it for the lower price? I already have a GSM Q and would like Securecomm but I think €120 per year is steep for my uses. Thanks

Hi, Looking to integrate my alarm into Home Assistant. I'm pretty sure I have a GSM only card - is there an easy way to tell ? Also, is it possible to add the ethernet card as well, or is the combo GSM/Wifi card the only option with mobile phone failover ?

If you have your own sim in the alarm receiving texts only then you have a GSM-Q

If you have an app then you may have the GSM-SC

You can add a GSM/WIFI once the software is up to date
