Basic Guidance GPS

Hi just seeing what everyone uses. Looking at purchasing entry level gps for tractor to help with farm tasks such as fertiliser slurry and mowing. Trying to keep the budget tight😂

question is I’ve priced patchwork black box air New 1280+vat and Trimble ez 250 second hand approx 750. Any find major advantages with using either or is better product out there I didn look at.

Used a Leica system few years ago. Not sure on price but it was very neat overall. Basic system just set up a straight line as possible at a boundary or fence. Then based on the settings you put in and what you're doing it sets up the lines for you to follow. Shows what ground you have spread. Used it for fertiliser and spraying only.

Thinking about buying an EZguide 250. I'd say it's only a matter of time before they get made compulsory and the prices will increase

Ez guide 250 not made any more

they were about 1250 €

cheapest one Trimble make now to replace that one is 1700€ I think

the BIL. has a TeeJet guidance system, paid 1100€ for it 5 years ago and v happy with it

Thanks for the replies; do feel with price of fertiliser it would pay for itself after year or two. Took the Trimble 250 Didn get chance to use yet but will in extra few weeks.

Sure look it's not going to be pinpoint accurate obviously but it's free. I used for spreading fert a few years back and it did the job.

There was an article on a gps system a couple of years back in the Classic Tractor magazine, the benefit was it could fit older tractors, can't remember the name but they were only around 800 pounds from memory.

Edit; it was ontrak.
