Google Pay request fail

I got a Xiaomi Redmi phone and have tried to set up Google Pay. I keep getting the message 'Request Failed Your transaction cannot be completed [OR-TAPSH-08]' I have had no issue on my previous phone which was an iphone. I called my bank today but there is nobody in Cards to talk to until Monday. Has anyone encountered this issue previously and if so how was it resolved?

What model of phone is it? Does it have NFC enabled?

Looks to be an issue after too many attempts to add the card, or it's not able to verify it completely.

Appears you need to contact Google Pay https://support.google.com/pay/gethelp

Its a Redmi 10. It has NFC which is turned on. I'm baffled by it. I have deleted the pay app, retried it with eircode/without eircode (as my bank account doesn't have the eircode).

Go to settings > more > secure element position and make sure HCE Wallet is selected.

Tried that earlier thanks. Still no joy. May have to leave it until I can get in touch with bank and make sure the card isn't somehow blocked, given the amount of times I have tried to set it up now.
