Can't remember being as excited going to a league game as I am tonight. It's great to be going back.

Glad to see Aaron Byrne start.

He had a great game last week.

Did small not get a suspension over his red card last week?

I'm the same has a bit of novelty about no restrictions etc - young team. Hope Dessie sticks with this group lets them gel a bit.

Double header as well great value! Hoping to see the hurlers push on from that Galway win. Should be high on confidence.

CP under floodlights big crowd expected.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Come to think of it I remember one game where Armagh played Dublin in the league big crowd. think was around 2003 ish. There was hailstones and everything - Armagh hammered Dublin.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Hard to know what team actually starts tonight but a couple named have had chances before but don't look up to it. We really need some to step up big time during the league at least .

Can't wait to get back to Croke Park this evening. Some excitement.

I know it shouldn't be a priority, but would murder a pint before match and one at half time. Anyone know if the bars are back operating in Croke Park?

Nice to see that Mattie Kenny will leave Dublin with some silverware along, of course, with a fat cheque for expenses

Brother is up for the Kerry game tomorrow so popped in for the Dubs v Armagh tonight.

That was a bad tackle on Small.

Good refereeing straight up, Armagh player booked inside 90 seconds for a pretty wild forearm swinging and wrapped around the neck of the Dublin player…

as I type two players dragging out of a Dublin player going forward Kilkenny I think and no free.

8 minutes and no score but being played at a nice brisk pace and good intensity.

    brilliant from Howard.

Three Armagh lads dragging Basquels arm yet they get the free…

Blatant arm drag on Fenton and nothing

Dublin slow and ponderous, dominating the ball yet Armagh far more direct and scores coming easier.

Similar to last year so far

Dreadful goal to concede. Direct football once more

Dessie's tactic to play slow slow ball is killing us. Seems he's learned nothing from last year.

This is like watching rugby lads trying to hold up a maul. How is the ref letting them away with it constantly.

Dublin backs can't get a hand on Armagh full forward line

Armagh are very good value for their lead.

    This is awful from Dublin.

    Just awful.

9 points down at half time at home to Armagh.

    Dreadful stuff.

    Dessie Out

Shambolic first half know it's only first game but dreadful really lot of work to do .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,502 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

    Absolutely, a mad watch….

Dropped in short and nobody alive to the trajectory of the ball…and easily cleared…ffs

Fenton getting frustrated at this referee as a lot of us are id imagine …

not going to bridge this deficit… 9 points down..

referee shown there in a replay about 8 feet away but no whistle watching about 5 Armagh players just pull one of our lads to the deck, wtf ? Crazy..

Of all the first half highlights to show before going to the break, They're the ones RTE picked out? Bizarre

I enjoyed my evening out in Carlow last Saturday but this is bringing me back down to earth as I expected more. Our worst league performance so far since........? Very like last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,871 ✭✭✭MFPM

Yes there's issues with the players and the depth but this is on management, the style of play is dreadful. Armagh break at speed and swarm Dublin picking off scores, Dublin slow and ponderous leaving it easy to be surrounded and turned over.

I don't see Dublin turning this around tonight but even if they do the problems are glaring...Tralee next week could be a right hiding.

Not enough speed, we are too slow and deliberate.
