How to set Simon 3 house alarm?

Hi,

I’ve moved into a new house recently and was provided with the default password to the phonewatch Simon 3 alarm system.

I can’t seem to activate the alarm. There is no phone line and I’ve no Eir account but I thought I could use the alarm as a stand-alone alarm system?

I’ve followed the user guide here

This is me inputting the default pin but nothing happens, not even a prompt or acknowledgment tone.

What am I missing obvious? When I select System Status, the alarm say connection error but that’s because I’ve no landline.

Any assistnce would be appreciated. Thank you

You should be able to use the Simon as a standalone alarm.

You press the doors and windows button, then enter your code, then press the motion button to turn on the motion detectors if you want them on.

Thats what I thought. I’ve pressed Alarm, entered password and nothing happens.

I’ve also pressed Alarm, entered password and pressed motion detectors but again, nothing happens, not even a beep or a light.

I waited for 5 min and I’ve opened the front door but the alarm doesn’t go off.

Can you press the status button and list off what it says please.

Status button only says the time.

Every 2 weeks or so, the alarm beeps and the status button lights up. When I press it, it says the time and then says “communication error”

I just hit disarm and the alarm stops beeping and the status button light turns off.

Any ideas at all?

If you drop the front lid and enter 54321.

If it lets you delete option 4,5 and 6 that will fix the communication issue.
