So typical of Napoli to beat Milan and then throw it away against a relegation side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,643 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

10 hours of Serie A live action tomorrow, starting with Bologna vs leaders Inter in the morning. Milan vs Roma and Juve vs Napoli look the pick of the games and nice to see they're kicking off in the evening. Hopefully Covid cases don't scupper the fixtures.

Juve Napoli obviously the big one, however the Lazio Empoli game could have any amount of goals if that’s what yer after.

The papers are all saying the Bologna, Atalanta, Fiorentina and Salernitana games won't be played today and that the Juve game is unlikely too. The lega won't postpone the games so we'll end up with the same situation as happened between Juve and Napoli last season, it's a joke that the lega are insisting the games go ahead when they know what will happen from that match so why not just postpone? It only hurts the league's image this way.

Milan are missing their whole starting back line except to Hernandez for the game tonight.

Are Inter not playing today ?

Match vs Bologna was meant to be earlier but it was postponed/forfeited by Bologna.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,542 ✭✭✭dor83

The game was supposed to be at 11:30 but the Bologna players were ordered to quarantine by the ASL so they didn't turn up, game was abandoned and Inter awarded a 3-0 win but Bologna will appeal and the game will be rescheduled. Everybody knew it was going to happen before Inter travelled but the lega refused to postpone matches so Inter had to turn up to the stadium. Still not sure what will happen with Juve v Napoli but it looks like going ahead seeing as Napoli have already travelled, even if some of the players who travelled can't play.

Giroud gives Milan the lead from the spot. Didn't see the Abraham handball in real time but looking at the replay I think it had to be given. He does move towards the ball.

Nothing like walking in the door from work to see Jr. celebrate goal 2 for Milan

That was a gift of a goal. Roma in danger of losing this before half-time.

2-1 now. Abraham makes amends with a goal. Game on.

Roma down to ten. Karsdorp sent off. Tough for Roma to get something now.

3-1. What a finish from Leao. That should be the win for Milan.

Leao wins a pen and Mancini sent off. Patricio saves Ibra's pen.

It finishes 3-1 to Milan. Deserved win for the home side. Maignan was very impressive in goal. Great start to the year for Leao. Hope he can have a strong 2022.

Napoli leading Juve 1-0 via Mertens. Think De Ligt would have cleared it but for Szczesny's touch.

1-1. Chiesa equalises through a deflection.

It ends a draw. Juve players not happy the ref didn't let them take the corner at the end. Good game. Juve need to take their chances. Icardi maybe on the way...

I should of put a bet on.

Theo Hernandez is outrageous, the best left back in the world, is that agreeable now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,366 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

He's not the best or even close sadly. He looks great due to his energy and certainly has the ability to beat average markers but look at him in the CL where he spent his time running into people and falling over and along with Keisse was the biggest disappointment of that campaign.

I did love the shot after the match yesterday where he is still kicking off after winning 3-1 and Pioli is just giggling at him in a "that's Theo" sort of way

Watching the highlights of the Milan game I just noticdPioli runs half the lenght of the pitch to get in the pile up for Leao's goal

Maitland-Niles making his debut for Roma against Juve. Tough task facing Chiesa and co.

What a free-kick from Pellegrini. Roma 3-1 up on Juve.

Wow, left the room for some refreshments and it's 3-3. 😂

Now it's 4-3 Juve via De Sciglio. Poor from Smalling. Mental second half!

    What a game!

I'm actually stuck in Italy with covid and have been thoroughly enjoying the Serie A matches this week. A Juve fan - or maybe a Lazio fan - in the apartment block has been going absolutely mad the last 15 minutes.

De Ligt concedes a pen for handball and gets a second yellow. Pellegrini's penalty is saved by Szczesny. This game is great.

Full-time and it ends 4-3 to Juve. That was an epic that had everything.

I could think of far worse places to be stuck!

As much as I dislike Juventus it was absolutely hilarious to see the frauds face when the 4th went in. Long may it continue.

His record was poor, although he did have a tricky run of fixtures. Wonder who they will get to replace him.

Atalanta vs Inter ends goalless. Didn't expect that. Caught the final 25 minutes where Handanovic had to make a good stop.

Saw highlights of Venezia's draw with Empoli earlier. Didn't realise Nani had signed for Venezia. He got an assist off the bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,366 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Atalanta were all over the inter box for the first 30 mins too but never seemed able to get the shot off.

Big chance for Milan to go ahead tonight with the big Juve and Inter games coming back to back for them afterwards

    HT Milan 1-0 Spezia

Milan with most of the ball and chances but Provedal was playing a blinder in goals until he scuffed a backpass and gave away a penalty in the 44 min. Theo then stepped up and put the penalty wide.

Within a minute though Milan played a long ball out of defense to put Leao 1v1 with the keeper who he chipped for a goal
