After the success of Netflix’s behind-the-scenes Formula 1 series “Drive to Survive”, the streamer has announced a new partnership for a similar, albeit golf-themed, show. Netflix is teaming up with the PGA Tour and golf’s major championships for a documentary series that will follow the lives and stories of the world’s top professional golfers across the 2022 season.

From Vox Media Studios and the production team behind F1: DRIVE TO SURVIVE, the series will go inside the ropes and behind the scenes of golf’s biggest events, including The Players, the FedExCup, and all four major championships.

    Justice U

David Ramsey To Star In Arrowverse Series ‘Justice U’ In The Works At The CW

David Ramsey is putting together a new gang of superheroes for The CW.

The actor, who plays John Diggle in Arrow as well as a number of other DC-related series, is to headline Justice U, which is in development at the youth-skewing broadcaster.

Ramsey’s Diggle is a former bodyguard and master sergeant in the U.S. Army as well as co-founder of Team Arrow.

In the new series, which is set in the Arrowverse, after years of fighting alongside masked heroes, Diggle embarks on a new mission to recruit five young meta humans to live undercover as freshmen at a prestigious university. There he will oversee their education and train them to become the heroes of tomorrow.

In addition to starring in the series, if it is picked up to pilot, Ramsey, who has directed a number of Arrowverse episodes, will helm the pilot.

It comes as Ramsey, who has also featured in Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Batwoman and Superman & Lois, has struck an overall directing deal with Berlanti Productions and will helm multiple episodes of series within the Arrowverse, alongside guest starring in others.

Based on the DC Comics characters, the series comes from Superman & Louis co-exec producer Michael Narducci, who has also worked on series including The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, and Grey’s Anatomy exec producer Zoanne Clack.

Produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden and Geoff Johns exec produce alongside Narducci and Clack.

Guess that rules out the Green Lantern series for him.

And when I read the "Red Steel" in bold in your second story, I thought it was based on the Wii game, then saw it was Real Steel.

I doubt they would have gone to all that trouble of him getting the ring at the end of Arrow and then dealing with the repurcussions of refusing it when he showed up in Batwoman and Superman and Lois. Sure isn't there a Green Lantern show coming to HBO Max, just because he got the ring doesn't mean he'd actually become a lantern.I would have thought with The CW up for sale they wouldn't be planning new shows especially if Nexstar by it going off this article

That Green Lantern series is a long time in development now. Like it was in the works since before Crisis over 2 years ago. COVID likely affected it. Maybe Diggle was meant to be in it but delays changed things and they decided to go this way with him.

Plus we have a Green Lantern type in Stargirl.

     Justified: City Primeval

Justified: City Primeval finds Raylan still living in Miami, to which he relocated in the series finale. A walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of his 14-year-old daughter with Winona, “his hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind,” the synopsis tells us.

A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway leads Raylan to Detroit, where he crosses paths with Clement Mansell aka “The Oklahoma Wildman,” a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once — and aims to do so again. Mansell’s lawyer, Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client even as she finds herself caught between a cop and a criminal, with her own game afoot as well. “These three characters set out on a collision course in classic Elmore Leonard fashion, to see who makes it out of the City Primeval alive.”

Given that Raylan is not a character in the source material, it appears he will in some ways supplant the novel’s protagonist, homicide Detective Raymond Cruz.

Dave Andron and Michael Dinner, who were executive producers on the OG Justified, will serve are showrunners, writers and EPs, with Dinner directing. Olyphant will also carry an EP credit, as will previous showrunner Graham Yost (among others.)

Apple TV+ are bringing Legendary's Godzilla monsterverse to the small screen. Seems odd that it's not HBO given how WB partnered with Legendary for the 4 recent movies.

I could be wrong but I think WB just had the distribution rights maybe, I know Legendary were very unhappy about the decision to release GvK on HBO Max.

Really? Thought the lead actor was terribly miscast for the role and Izzard was like what? Maybe Hanks had set the bar higher in acting terms

Yep, sorry. I liked it. 🙂

I thought it was an OK show but the lead actors had no chemistry and the whole whispering thing really annoyed me. Would have liked it to have gotten another season with a non-book storyline, I think a lot of the problem with the show was that I had read the books so I knew what was coming next.

    Later

Blumhouse Television Sets Stephen King Novel ‘Later’ For Limited Series To Star Lucy Liu

Published in March 2021 by Hard Case Crime, Later centers around a literary agency owner, Tia, who is raising her son Jamie alone, and who finds herself on the brink of professional ruin when her star author client dies before turning out the work that will make her agency financially whole. Jamie has the supernatural ability to talk to the dead, all of whom tell him the truth. This is very helpful when he talks to the dead author and feeds the contents of the book to his mother, who writes it herself and publishes it under the author’s name, to great success. But this gift can be used for more nefarious purposes.
