Ariva combo box recording problems

    Hi folks, Happy New Year.

I have a Ferguson Ariva 150 combo box. I have a 1TB external hard drive for recording programmes. I've been having problems recording programs. If I'm recording a program that's an hour long it might only record 20mins or not record at all. I've set the time correctly to record so I've no idea what's wrong. Does the combo box need a reset? Hoping someone can help.

Has it ever worked properly? Generally the USB ports in these devices are unable to sufficiently power hard drives, they work best with USB sticks.

It works most of the time. I might try a USB stick instead and see if that is more reliable. Thanks for the reply.

You could also try a powered USB hub, a decent one should output more power to an attached HDD.

Have a 1 TB externally powered that works fine. I thought there were settings in dvr configuration that may or may not work.

My own 4 year old av technician did a factory reset so would appreciate if you have the satellites and I can do a rescan. Think it's astra and firebird maybe.
