It's quite simple. You said 'Josh Kimmich is now experiencing lung problems from his COVID infection and non vaccination.'

The reality is that 'Josh Kimmich is now experiencing lung problems from his COVID infection'.

The Covid infection makes people ill.

You mention the non vaccination even though it makes absolutely no sense in this sentence.

You cannot get ill from something not happening. You get ill from the Covid infection.

You get more ill from Covid when not vaccinated. Hope that clears it up for you and you can stop clogging the thread with anti vax stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,100 ✭✭✭I see sheep

I've no interest in debating the merits of the vaccine.

All I said in my original post about it was "I hope the lads don't drone on about vaccine stuff today".

It is something they talk about on the pod so naturally it's valid to mention it here.

”you cannot get ill from something not happening”

better just forget about vaccinating the poorest people in the world against Malaria so.

just tell them they cant get ill from something not happening. Get on with it lads, look out for the mozzies

So all the people in 2020 got ill because of not having a vaccine that didn't exist? Not Covid no? Ok good man.

no one got ill from Polio in 2020, wonder why…

Well that's a few minutes of my life wasted reading this nonsensical "debate".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,841 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

Im sorry If you mistakedly think you should have some veto over what people are allowed to discuss on discussion forums.

If you think these posts have no place in this thread, then report them.

If on the other hand you Heard Ken spend 25 mins of yesterdays pod alone discussing vaccination then maybe you should better appreciate that these posts are completely valid within this thread and suck it up.

Ken is interesting, intelligent and entertaining though. This is just pure nonsense.

As you are defending your childish drivel, I'll respond to your post:

"Im sorry If you mistakedly think you should have some veto over what people are allowed to discuss on discussion forums.

If you think these posts have no place in this thread, then report them."

More nonsense. I expressed my frustration with having to read your pointless and endless back and forth. No more.

"If on the other hand you Heard Ken spend 25 mins of yesterdays pod alone discussing vaccination then maybe you should better appreciate that these posts are completely valid within this thread and suck it up."

You seem to think that you were having a sensible discussion about the merits of vaccination etc. However, your discussion was just about the semantics of one of your posts - whether it is correct to say that someone can get sick from non-vaccination.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,841 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

It was a debate about the value of vaccines. It wasnt about sematics. If you think it was, you misunderstood which is fine. I wont be engaging further.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,032 ✭✭✭Raoul Duke

There was not one single negative post about vaccines. The debate was all in your head. Read the posts again.

    Vaccine chats are boring though

    Rugby vaccine chat incoming?

This vaccine stuff over the last year has really proved that the Dunning-Kruger effect is real.

Enjoyed today's pod. Interesting subject matter and intriguing to see how it develops.

Yeah really good. I'm not a gambler but I've gambled a few tenners on crypto just to see. It's all down.

It's so mad how sport can be a conduit for lawlessness. There's always a wild west grab what you can feel to sport. Pity the thing that makes you dream so much as a kid gets so corrupted.

Really enjoyed the crypto talk too. Have no interest in crypto currency but found it very interesting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,851 ✭✭✭Raoul

I think gambling is a probably bigger problem than crypto at the moment. I hate all the gambling ads. It's non stop in the premier League

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,132 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

GFW had great podcasts on gambling recently. Also, interesting to hear some of the presenters turning down work with gambling companies. I stopped listening to the totally football show when paddy Power became a sponsor. Also due to the fact that 3 football podcasts was a bit much. But they got a terrible reaction on twitter when they announced a gambling company as sponsors, people are sick of it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,151 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

It turned me off them as well. And it's not just named sponsorship, they also have some guy from PP on every episode to talk for a few minutes. It's greasy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,314 ✭✭✭✭dulpit

They should talk about gambling in Ireland too, Shamrock Rovers doing this nonsense now:

Needs to be banned (gambling sponsorship in sports)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,892 ✭✭✭Brock Turnpike

Are they still doing this? I am an Athletic subscriber so I get the ad free version of the pod. I **** hated the PP adverts on it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,777 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

Yep, much as I love Jimbo, I just can't handle that leechy slimy bullshìt. Don't listen at all anymore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,981 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

The problem is that it's very hard to attract sponsors and gambling companies are often the only ones jumping on board. It's a tough decision between the moral side and accepting money that will keep you afloat. Not saying I agree with the sponsorship because it's gone way OTT in the last few years but I also understand why it happens.

I put on newstalk this morning at 7.45 on my google device, so through TuneIn. Gambling advert! First thing I heard in the morning was an advertisement about gambling. :/

Don't see hoe Ken can think TAA's challenge wasn't a pen but Coufal's was. Coufal touches the ball, how much he touches the ball should be irrelevant
