They have changed the system in the UK now, nearly every offer in-store needs the club card, your Irish one doesn't work and your geo locked from using there app. Alcohol offers I used to get are now clubcard deals, your normal 2 for 1 stuff is all clubcard now etc etc. <snip>

Hi I am going to Newry tomorrow. How do I use this? Just hold up a screen shot at the til?

    Thanks :)

Yep that worked for me, or enter the number manually. Download the pics

This one also works. Not sure why it isn't a QR code. Still works though.

Someone is going to get a lot of Clubcard Points!!!!!!! But if it works then no one misses out. At the moment the difference of crossing the border is Clubcard Offers. There is still Asda and Sainsbury.

I was able to get a NI clubcard number using a northern address. Didn't have the physical card and couldn't download the app, but the cashier tried in the card number and I got the clubcard deals that way

    Typed, not tried!

Reckon an AddressPal address (London) may work for signing up for a UK Clubcard, or by chance has anyone here tried?!

Didn’t realise that was the case bummer. <snip>

You can put the app on your phone by finding the APK online.

Thanks, this saved me 22% on a shop. As well as most products being cheaper such as fruit/milk/bread/veg, the clubcard is worth using.

Some great booze deals in tesco at min. Especially if you use the clubcard deal. <snip>

Coors 330 ml bottles 20 bottles a tenner on clubcard

    Screenshot_20220214-201531_Chrome.jpg

Some fairly decent looking white wines in the deal with a Clubcard discount down to £5 Such as this:

    www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/310152985 *

£6.50 down to £5 with CC then down to £3.75 each with the 6+ stunt.

Aswell as general cheaper food shopping and a huge range of clubcard prices.

Yes - I did this last year.

When my card arrived at Hatfield, got the notification to pay €6.50 and the 3 cards (1x regular and 2x key ring sized) arrived. I find it handier than worrying about the app. Saved £10 of my first purchase off a bottle of whiskey so effectively paid for itself in one hit.

I registered on the tesco.com website a while ago just using the post office belfast as my home address and got a clubcard number.

I then added this number to the Stocard app which gives you a barcode for the clubcard number.

    This then scans in store.

You can then change your communications preferences on the clubcard so that the clubcard vouchers are emailed to you.

There are some shocking differences in prices between the North and South.

I was up there today and bought a lot of stuff using the clubcard prices

    Example

    Wine €10 here

€5.13 after clubcard price and 25% off

I chose to have my physical UK Clubcard posted over to me via AddressPal... just got stung for a €4.99 customs charge 🙃

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,104 ✭✭✭wassie

Seems AddressPal/AnPost is a bollox for arbitary customs/VAT charges post Brexit since middle of last year. Try and appeal the charges by the fact the item is free as shown on their website: https://secure.tesco.com/account/en-GB/register

Email address to query VAT charges is: eCommChargeQuery@anpost.ie confirming there is zero cost for this item.

If you need more help use this Addresspal thread here, but be prepared for a wait and they can be very slow to respond.Good luck with it all.

Did the same myself. Registered and got a clubcard number. The differences in price are indeed shocking.

15x500ML cans of Bulmers in Tesco RoI is 'on offer' at €27. Normally €30.

That's about €1.60 a litre, lowest price in ROI for it is €3.55 a litre, I wish I still drank it 😁

€1.62 at today's €/£ buy rate. Or in pints: 92c. There will be some traffic heading to Newry before Xmas should the £ weaken. Even now though thats incredible value.
